“A lush oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Living Hotel was recommended by a friend and met all our expectations for a beautiful and relaxing vacation! The rooms are spread out in a beautiful and well kept garden surrounding a great pool. The a/c and ceiling fan were great to have in the heat and small private sitting area outside the room with billowing white curtains added to the romantic feel of the place. We even had our own hammock and outdoor shower for rinsing off sand from visits to the beach.
The breakfast was simple but delicious - fruit salad, unlimited coffee (but only green tea), fried, scrambled or boiled eggs and toast around a large communal table. A great place to hear from other guests about various activities in Nosara or for just starting the day in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I also loved the on-site sushi cafe and the possibility of having a manicure/pedicure and massage. I have not stayed at any other hotel in Nosara, but this will be my first choice when I return!

Booked a room here at the last possible minute when we arrived in Nosara earlier this week. It was recommended to my girlfriend and I by Andrew, from the Aqua Tibia Surf School. After driving a few hours there really is no better feeling than finding a friendly, clean and beautiful place to spend the night. The breakfast was really a nice touch and was the perfect way to start a morning of surfing. We are definitely coming back!

I came here with my mom and stayed 4 nights. What a beautiful place! Seperated from the road by landscaping and palms, right by the supermercado store, restaurants, board rental, and beach entrance.

Nice and quiet, beautiful pool, beautiful buildings and layout, free breakfast included.

Our room had AC, private bathroom with nice hot water shower. No TV, and wifi wouldn't work in the room, but it did outside the door and by the pool. Also has a little patio area that is private, seperated from others with pretty white curtains, with a nice beanbag style couch. Hammocks in the shade under the palms right there too. :)

Really nice pool, comfy open air dining/hangout area, smoothi/sushi bar, and free breakfast. :)

Staff was very helpful, and spoke decent English. We had a great stay and I would recommend.

Living Hotel is new, beautifully designed and every staff member was friendly and professional - booking manager, breakfast lady, room cleaner, pool man, night guard, massage therapist and manicurist. We talked to many of them and it is obvious that the owner has cherry picked staff with lots of experience from other hotels in town (esp. The Harmony) and San Jose. My massage from Paula was a particular highpoint. The only negative had nothing to do with the hotel - the room we booked on booking.com was not available when we arrived. Living Hotel gave us a better room for the same price. Our lesson from this is: don't bother with booking.com or similar middlemen - book direct!

I really like this place for the grounds (lush palms and generally awesome common areas similar to a spa or darling boutique hotel). The pool is one of the best in Nosara, from what we saw. Very clean overall- both the rooms and grounds. Electronic safe is lovely. The on-site sushi counter and smoothie options are great. Free breakfast is a bonus. It loses points for me because my friend and I stayed four nights and we had to switch rooms during this time and basic things like getting a spoon when I wanted to eat yogurt was impossible. The room switch meant we had to pack our bags twice which was a total pain and they refused to switch the room of the other travelers that were staying for less time. I think this is just lame and not accommodating. Beware that the power goes off in Nosara intermittently and you could find yourself without running water for hours at a time. This place is great and once the word gets out, it will be way more expensive that it is now (we paid $85/night). Excellent restaurants nearby which makes it easy, as Costa Rica is not walkable at night in the beach towns.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with a room here, I thought the rooms by the pool were charming.

The people/staff/owner are all so friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend you go and experience for yourself! The food onsite is so good and the entire staff is so welcoming. The hotel is moments from the beach and a short walk to town. The rooms have AC, a safe, and mini fridge. There is a convenient store in less than 2 minute walk and on the way to the beach. This place is extremely affordable and you get a lot for your money.

Just left the Living Hotel after twelve wonderful days. This place is really all you need - fresh, clean, safe with beautiful (always clean) pool and gorgeous lush grounds with hammocks and really nice and helpful staff! Great location, quiet and close to the beach. Rooms are clean and new - nothing crazy fancy, but amazing for what you pay! My room also had a cute little patio outside with a private sitting area which was really nice. If you dont want to spend all your dollars on a luxury resort type hotel, but dont want just a bed either, this is the place in Nosara! Im going back and wouldnt stay anywhere else! Breakfast is simple, but fresh! Yummy coffee, delicious fruit salad and eggs made to order - served by very nice ladies! The also have a cafe on the grounds with smoothies and sushi - both very good and convenient if you feel like just hanging at the hotel for a day. I also tried the spa services and got a very nice pedicure. Not a single complaint really! Cant wait to go back :)
