Eggplant parm was HUGE...can't believe my lady friend ate the whole thing. My blackened dorado was excellent and the sides were also done nicely. Not a culinary experience, per se, just quality food w/ an airy atmosphere.

Hola! We're so glad to hear that you and your lady friend had a satisfying experience with us, and that she enjoyed our Eggplant Parm so much! Tell her not to worry about eating the whole thing. As with Las Vegas, what happens in Marlin Bill's, stays in Marlin Bill's! :) We're also happy to hear you enjoyed your dorado, which is one of our specialties! We hope to see you the next time you're in Nosara/Guiones, and we promise not to tell if your lady friend decides to have dessert AND the Eggplant Parm! ;) Pura vida!

“Great food, Good Value, Fabulous Sunset View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2011

We were a party of eight looking for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.... the majority of people on the beach advised us to go to Marlin Bill's. Glad we did..... Just like being at home. Starting with a relish tray of deviled eggs, olives, veggies with a dip on to turkey, cornbread stuffing (very light and tasty) mashers with gravy and seasoned carrots. Two in our party had Avocado Chilean Sea Bass, beautiful presentation and yummy....
Key Lime Pie to die for........ Earlier in the week we had sandwiches at a local ice cream place, O.K. but really expensive for what we got...... we also paid $6.00 for juice from a watermelon at a place on the way to Rick Walkers Surf School (great surf school, best there) Marlin Bill's wasn't expensive compared to other places..... can't imagine why someone told us it was????? Hey to Angie and Ray and to the couple that were at Marlin Bill's for their 16th year of Thanksgiving dinners with that group...... Sounds like home........ We're going for lunch before we leave for...... Blackened Sea Bass and Shrimp Ceviche........... and one more piece of pie. Conrad and olive Jones

Hola, Conrad and Olive! We're so happy we were able to give you the traditional Thanksgiving experience you were seeking! We're also happy that so many people on the beach told you that we were the place to go- and that we lived up to the trust they placed in us by recommending us! We treasure our guests, many of whom become friends, and are thankful you spent your Thanksgiving with us! (Sorry, but I couldn't resist that pun!) We're also glad that the people in your party who opted out of our tradtional Thanksgiving fare were also happy with their experience. We make every effort to give our guests terrific food at competetive prices in a beautiful setting with a friendly, attentive staff. Thanks for letting us know we succeeded in that! We hope you made it back for that return visit before you left Nosara, and we look forward to seeing you, again! Pura vida!

“Terrible food, bad service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2011

We have been visiting Nosara for the last 15 years because we have property there, however we have never been to Marlin's Bill's before until last Christmas. First of all, the food is less than average, prices expensive, waiters do not speak Spanish and have a bad attitude, menu is only in English. I do not recommend it to anyone. Nosara has much better restaurants with higher quality food and good cocktails.

We are so sorry- and rather dismayed- that your experience with Marlin Bill's was not a positive one. Our goal is not just to MEET the expectations of our guests, but to EXCEED them in every way possible, and as you can see from the reviews other guests have posted, we like to think we succeed in that endeavor. Since, as you noted in your review, you have been coming to Nosara for many years, we are sure you realize that a large number of restaurants in the area do not provide Spanish-language menus, nor Spanish-speaking servers, as visitors to Nosara come from all over the globe. Although we are located in a Spanish-speaking country, the clientele we serve is from all over the world, and, for the most part, English is a universal language. However, we make every effort to address the needs of guests for whom English is not their primary, or even secondary language, and have people on staff who can converse in Spanish, should a guest need that service. Additionally, as reinforced in the review posted by other guests, we feel our food and service are top-notch, and we work hard to satisfy even the desires of guests who have enjoyed the wonderful fishing opportunities in the area, and would like their catch "cooked to order," something many restaurants do not offer. Finally, we are proud to say that we are a favorite with locals and visitors, alike, and your experience is by far the EXCEPTION, rather than the rule. We hope you will visit us, again, and let us show you what has made Marlin Bill's a local favorite, as well as a destination for visitors.

We're sorry you missed us the first time, but we're so glad you found us this time, Pete! We pride ourselves on our outstanding food and drinks, but we're also proud to offer our guests satellite TV (don't want to miss those important games while away from the States), as well as what we feel are some of the best views of the sunset in Playa Guiones! Come back and see us! We'll have the sunset waiting for you! Pura vida!
