“Nice spot, decent food, good smoothies.”

Food was good, beer was cold, smoothies were delicious. Give it a try! We ate here several times and always had the fish special. Always fresh and tasty.

“One of my favorite places!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

It might be the atmosphere that this hostel/restaurant exudes. It might just be luck. But I have met so many incredible people by hanging out at KayaSol. So take that for what it's worth. :)

This was also one of my favorite places to hang out with food and my laptop to get some work done.

They have a couple of great vegetarian options and they're also willing to substitute in tofu in most meat dishes.

New manger who is also the chef which results in great food. Good variety both American favorites and local flavors. Outdoor appeal quick walk to the beach. Try the Breakfast and you will come back for Lunch and/or Dinner. American owned.

All of the food was great that I ate there. I highly recommend their salad especially the salads with fish. My favorite was Seared Ahi salad., but all of the other fresh fish was wonderful.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2012 via mobile

If you're looking for the Orange County of a Costa Rica then don't look here. But if you are looking for the ultimate surfing vacation experience the Kaya Sol is the place for you.

The Cabinas are modest and could use a bit more furniture to get your bags off of the floor. But come on, are you here to surf or hang out in your room?

The staff is welcoming, friendly and the word NO does not seem to exist in their vocabulary. In terms of the food we ate like kings. Jorge is a five star chef and judging by the evening crowds everyone in town thinks so too. On a food budget don't worry a two inch thick tuna freshly caught by Luis part time fisherman/bartender will cost you about thirteen bucks.

The people the Kaya Sol attracts all seem to share a love for the ocean and having a good time. Couple that with the staff and surroundings helped to make this one of the best vacations of my life
