“Try the gluten free brownies à la mode!”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

The food is always fresh and interesting, especially the vegetarian dishes (I'm NOT a vegetarian). But don't miss the gluten-free, super-rich brownie with 2 scoops of Rosi's home-made ice cream. Mmmmmmm... perfect on a hot afternoon in Nosara!

“Yummy!!!”

Smoothies and food. Don't leave Nosara without giving Robin's Ice Cream a try. Lime in the Coconut Ice Cream... Heavenly!!! Robin is an amazing chef. Her shop is quaint and food is delicious.

“Nice place”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

The ice cream was very, very good! Which I kept hearing from others. I had a chicken salad wrap, which was also freshly made and good but more run of the mill. Convenient location, comfortable place to chill, meet others, interesting and varied menu, with many of the comforts of home (several coffee choices), very good ice cream. Overall, I found it a little pricey.

“Robins Cafe: In the middle of nowhere & at the center of the universe”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

In the middle of nowhere and at the same time the center of the universe, Robins is no ordinary café. But first a bit about Robin, who has cooked professionally since 1975, both in the US and France, not the normal resume you would find in a place like Playa Guiones. Robins, in my opinion is the best day time eatery in the area. And on Tuesday evenings check NosaraToday.com to see if Robin is hosting her Tuesday evening special Indian dinners with fabulous raw deserts by Jan Paul of Naked Foods also located in Playa Guiones. The daily menu consists of vegetarian, traditional and raw cuisine with something to please everyone’s palate. The chilled avocado soup is one of my favorites as are the raw maki rolls. The bread available locally does not meet Robin’s standards so she bakes her own, on site, for her sandwiches. She also makes her own Tortillas for her traditional Tico breakfast plate. Other item you’ll find at Robins are her killer smoothies, homemade ice cream, fresh locally roasted La Vida coffee which she brews and sells ground or whole beans to take home. You’ll also find JanPaul's juices and raw food. Do yourself a favor and checkout Robins while you’re in Playa Guiones, were the locals hang. If you’re lucky Betty “The Ghost Dog” will let you pet her.
