This review is long overdue! I stayed at Villa Tortuga twice in just three months (on my birthday in Dec 2013, and again in Mar 2014). I traveled solo both times, and stayed in the Del Mar suite - an incredibly spacious two bdrm apt (I know - a bit large for just one person but I love having a kitchen). I literally feel like this is my home away from home. The owner David, and his staff - Alex, and Adrianna are just amazing. Initially, because I was traveling solo, I wasn't too sure if I should stay here. It's in the quieter end of Guiones - turns out I preferred it! And the staff always made sure I was okay, safe, busy, etc! I love the convenience of the Frog Pad (movie/book/bike rental), the fact that there are several great restaurants and the mini market all within walking distance - and let's not forget to mention the beach is right in your backyard! I also felt like I had my personal pool since most folks spend the day at the beach surfing! And one of my fave parts is having Nine North Surf Co right outside my room. I adore the owner, Mark - and his new instructor Michelle! You walk right out and have your board rentals, surf lessons right there!
I almost don't want to rave about this place because I want it be my own secret paradise and always available when I wanna go! I'll definitely be back soon!
