My partner and I stayed at the Nosara Beach House from Christmas to New Years, though we were a day late due to being snowed-in in New York. We rented the two-bedroom apartment. It was way more than we ever needed, but we had waited to the last minute to book, so it was all that was left. The kitchen was better stocked than my own apartment. We went to the grocery store and got fresh fruit and beverages. It served us well in the evenings while we sat on our rocking chairs and swung in the hammocks. The entire place feels like your own home and it's literally steps from the beach. There is no problem with security. We had free wi-fi, a screened-in outdoor balcony to our room, nice beach towels. NBH had everything we needed and wanted.

Leah, the owner, was more than accommodating with suggestions of restaurants and activities for us to do, and even lent us boogie boards. She's incredibly helpful in arranging anything for you. She also didn't charge us for the day we were snowed-in. I thought that was beyond gracious.

If you've never been to Nosara, it's a beautiful, lax beach town split between yogi's and surfers. Don't expect touristy hotels or crazy night life, but do expect a breath-taking secluded beach with nice surf, great natural food, plenty of yoga practices to choose from and cheap massage. The roads are, well they're just gravel paths, actually. If you're going to drive, get an SUV. I'm not driving next time, I'll fly. Leah said she can pick us up from the airport.

My fiance and I stayed at the Nosara Beach House in Feb 2009. Leah was so helpful with tips on arrival, restaurants, surfing lessons. Our room was spotless and it was great to have the kitchen for breakfast and lunch, and we enjoyed dinner out. We walked everywhere, though would be fun to rent a jeep to explore surrounding areas. We shared the house with another couple and a single guy. Had the pool to ourselves most of the time when we weren't at the beach (midday it is too hot and sun too powerful). Great surf lessons at Harmony. A very relaxing, quiet, fun vacation.

Wow. What can I say that could adequately summarize my experience staying at the Nosara Beach House. Planning a trip for 10 for my husband's 50th B-day, I was nervous about all the things to consider. The owner, Leah was patient and very accomodating to all the questions and requests. She and her staff delivered and exceeded all my expectations. From cooking the birthday celebration to helping out with places to eat and things to do, Seidy and staff were amazing.

The house is located on a dead end street, so there is no traffic or noise other than the birds and animals running around on the property. A private path to the beach takes 5 minutes to walk. A hired security company walked the property at least three times a day, and helped us out on a couple of occasions when we left stuff by the pool that needed to come in at night.

You are in walking distance to all stores you will need, supermarket, internet cafe, restaurants (Guilded Iguana rocks) surf shop (Juan Surfo). Walk a little further and you can expand your choices should you want to shop around.

The house and rooms have nice decorations, great stone sculptures and painted murals. VERY comfortable and high quality beds. Plenty of closet space. The ceiling fans were so efficient that at night sometimes I was cold and had to turn it down. Slept great and loved waking up to the morning sun and sounds of the wildlife.

Bathrooms were beautiful and clean. All tiles with nice open showers. Hot water all the time and plenty of plush towels provided.

The kitchens had everything we needed to cook, which was a nice way to save money and take a break from eating out for every meal. Fridge, pots, pans, slow-cooker for beans and rice, tons of utensils, cups, plates - you name it!

We also loved the fact that the house had boogie boards to use and towels for both the pool and the beach.

If staying in Guiones, stay at the Nosara beach house. You will be really happy and not want to leave.

NBH was our firsts top in Coast Rica and we were spoiled. We stayed at NBH for 3 nights and loved it! There are only a few rooms and you share a beautiful pool surrounded by gardens. I read reviews from a few years ago where people were burglarized, but we had no safety issues. There was a safe in our room and we used it to put all our valuables in it. Our suits and shoes were left untouched outside our room at night!
Leah is full of enthusiasm and suggestions of where to go. The private walk to the beach is beautiful. Had a wonderful time and would go again. Paid about $60/night and worth every penny!

Owned by the sweetest lady named Leah, it is a cute little house tucked away in a corner of a tiny little town of Nosara. Originally tried booking at the Harmony hotel but it was all sold out! So we "settled" for this place for three nights, which was actually a bit cheaper anyway.

Anyhow, I was here during Christmas vacation of 2009 with my sister and we had a good time. There is a small pool in the courtyard -- well kept -- but why use it when you can just walk 5 minutes to the beach? It's a lovely little walk through the woods. Also, Leah rents boogie boards for free if you are interested. She was also very helpful with directions on local restaurants and surf schools. I discovered Robin's ice cream per Leah' suggestion and instantly fell in love!

As for the lodging itself, it's really quiet and there were several solo travelers in the adjacent rooms so noise was no problem. Be warned that there is no restaurant on premise; however the rooms have a kitchenette and a fridge so you can make your own.

It's about 5-10 minute walk to the busier parts of town. We actually liked that the Beach House was a bit more secluded because other hotels with bars and restaurants can get a little loud at night. Also, we didn't rent a car but if you plan on staying a while it may be worthwhile to rent one. Also it's REALLY dark at night in Nosara (no street lights) so it can get a little scary walking alone at night; but each room has a flashlight so make sure to take it in the evenings!
