This was our first time in Ubon, and, although the location is not the most convenient, this hotel was a good choice for us for a pleasant and comfortable stay in a quieter more residential area. Just be prepared to walk or take a tuk-tuk.
Breakfast was good, buffet-style, with an egg station and Thai-style hot dishes, and served in the restaurant just off the lobby area.
The Reception staff had only limited English, but they tried hard, and between us, with some laughs along the way, we all managed to get through. The Manager spoke better English, and was usually around to try and help out.
The downside of staying here was that it cost 100 baht/hr to use the computer in the lobby, but we used an internet cafe which was just a few metres down the road towards the town, and paid only 10 baht for an hour.
Generally we would recommend this hotel.
For simple fresh home-cooked food in a bright jolly and clean (aircon) cafe, we recommend Pasta and Noodles, on the corner near the hotel. Good food cooked and served by the friendly owner who speaks good English, making ordering easier
