“Hell on Earth”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

I've been coming to this hotel for the past 10 years, this stay being the last. Firstly, we only stayed here because the place up the road was full. The first thing you notice is how quiet the lobby area is, complete with the air -con turned off. The reception staff are miserable and barely give you eye-contact. Now to the rooms. In desperate need of renovations, very worn - out carpets and a very uncomfortable bed. We asked for a baby cot for our baby and received a cot that wouldn't look out of place in a Romanian orphanage. On our second night I came close to not paying the bill as a party took place on the 5th floor, next to the outdoor swimming pool.. The noise was deafining and went on until 11.00 P.M - absolutely no regard for guests. They have a perfectly good floor for this purpose on the 3rd floor. The breakfast is dire too. Finally it is only a few hundred baht cheaper than the place up the road, so for the sake of a few hundred baht look elsewhere. It's a shame as when I first went there in 2001 it was a great hotel but not it is just awful.

This hotel has some amazing things about it but it is in dire need of some new paint, new carpet, and clean the window. You can not even see out of the window bc they are so dirty from the outside. The house keeping is excellent keeping the place clean even the window seals. The front desk and door men are so nice and helpful! The pool is in dire need of tile work being fixed and desperately needs to be cleaned.Desperately cleaned! There is also no chairs to sit on only small concrete benchs. But then most Thai's dont like the sun so it doesnt seem to get used much. The bathrooms are marble and huge definately not new but they are work fine. The Marble stairway is magnificent as it goes up the middle of the hotel not that i used it since the elevator works fine. The breakfast is international with Thai food and traditional Eggs or omletes, toast and ham for people wanting western style. The food was great! The spa is extremely over priced and you can go out of the hotel or call to have them come to your room and get 2 hours for less than you can get an hour.
If this hotel just put some money into renovating the things above they could get a lot more for it but as of now it may be a bit over priced. 1000 baht per night isnt bad but kinda pushing it if they dont renovate soon. Thanks to staff and breakfast it does make up a bit for the other things.. We did stay here a week and fully enjoyed our stay with the staff. In a great location also for markets, airport and more.. I would stay here again, i just hope they renovate soon.

Room Tip: The cheaper rooms are just as good as the pool rooms which are more!

This hotel was formerly known as Nevada Grande. Neither it is a Grande hotel nor it is international. In fact, it is run down completely. Even the pool cannot be used any more despite it looked really nice from the balcony.
This hotel has large rooms with also large bath rooms and I'm sure when it was new it was nice to stay here. Bute now, it is completely run down, see pictures.
Not only over 1000 THB per night is too much for this, it is also not possible to sleep deeply as the hotel night club beats can be heard even on the higher floors until 6 am. The breakfast was not international but Thai style and eatable.

Not too pricey. Nice pool and amenities. Great house keepers, respond very well to small tip and you'll be surprised at the added service and kindness.
