Popped in with my sister (4 of us) for breakfast after telling her how good it was....Monday morning and we were the only customers. Waitress was lovely, sister asked if she could have a plain omelette, waitress came back from the kitchen to say cook said no! I had scrambled eggs which was practically an omelette anyway, how hard would it have been to do when they were not busy. On leaving the older lady who was cooking was on her phone by the door and just ignored us, no goodbye, nothing.....its costs nothing to be friendly or so I thought....I guess its not as good as it was....such a shame :-(

Hello Keith,

I am sorry you found my staff unfriendly. We have worked hard to try and make Moriarty’s as welcoming as possible. I can only assume that something important and unexpected had occurred to distract her at that moment. We have never had a complaint about her before. In fact normally customers sing her praises.
Omelettes are not on our menu, buy we do always try and do our best to be as flexible and accommodating as possible. Thank you for identifying a gap in her training. We will endeavour to remedy this lack of skill ASAP!
Please come again to the cafe to give us the opportunity to amend your negative experience. Customer satisfaction is really important to us. Thank you . Suzanna

Called in for a late breakfast, to find that about a third of the tables were full, so we expected good service. On enquiring whether a vegetarian breakfast was available, the lady serving confirmed: yes, no problem.
Our drinks arrived promptly, but clearly there was a problem in the kitchen, as there was very little food actually being served, and others were grumbling. Ours did arrive without too much of a wait, but I then discovered that their vegetarian breakfast was, in fact, a standard breakfast without the meat - so 1 egg, a tomato, some beans, and a tiny portion of mushrooms. The accompanying "toast" had also been "vegetarianised" too, as it hadn't been toasted. £6 for this was a joke! My partner's food was described as "OK".
On the way out, we heard people grumbling about the service, and they were told "there are 10 people ahead of you".
There is clearly something very wrong here. It's a cute venue, and other reviewers have obviously enjoyed their visits, but I certainly won't be returning...

A lovely country walk from Stanton led us to Walsham le Willows and this gem of a find. Light and airy inside and a quirky courtyard at the rear. Always at least one cake offering is going to be one we've never tried before!
