A warm welcome awaits you from Celine at this delightful family run hotel in the pleasant, small town of Salbris. Rooms excellent; outstandingly clean and inviting; excellent restaurant with good choice (I particularly recommend the chef's speciality 'Craquant de ris de veau').

We received a wonderful welcome from Celine who has a lovely smile and is a very cheerful person. Her husband is the chef and dinner was absolutely delicious. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was almost full with a lovely buzzy atmosphere. Our room was spacious and clean, if a tiny bit noisy as it was facing the road. We had arrived with a semi flat tyre and she mentioned that most garages in France do not open on Mondays until the afternoon but she made a call for us on Monday morning to a garage in Orleans who said they would be open. However, a few miles up the road in Lamotte-Beuvron we found a little workshop who repaired our tyre. We will definitely stay here again as we loved it and hopefully next time we can relax a bit more not knowing if we are going to get to Boulogne on time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road

We booked late and were happy to accept room 8 on the second floor. It was small but perfectly OK for an overnight stay. On a hot July evening dinner was served in the garden under shady trees. On this occasion we did not have grandchildren travelling with us, but if we had they would have enjoyed the play area where they could have escaped between courses and let us relax. An excellent meal with Celine overseeing everything with aplomb. Just one minor wrinkle with the meal - the tomato sorbet accompanying the smoked salmon was perfect but the salmon was completely tasteless! The rest of the food more than made up for this odd experience. A good breakfast served in the bar completed our stay and the bill was average for the area.

After a long drive from home to be greeted in perfect English and asked to take a seat in the garden whilst cold beers were brought to our table was indicative of our stay. Celine was very welcoming and the restyaurant catred to our vegetarian requirements.
Very close to the autoroute, this is a wonderful place to relax for the evening.

We have stayed overnight in Salbris on many occasions as it is conveniently located just off the motorway and ideal for our journeys from Spain to UK and back. The current owners have refurbished the rooms and provide a more than adequate continental breakfast.
Dinner is reasonably priced with excellent home cooked food, especially in the game season.
La Sologne is a region of lakes & forest with attractive walks.
Our intention would be to stay longer on the next occasion to take advantage of these.

Room Tip: Back of hotel unless you like hearing trains in the distance.

We received a warm welcome on arrival from Celine who has a friendly, bubbly nature and speaks good English. It was a very hot day and the room was nice and cool with portable air conditioning. Our room (no 2) was very spacious and furnished in warm luxurious bedding and fabrics with a large modern bathroom.
Although on a main road the sound was well deadened by double glazing.
Our evening meal was very good and, at 18 Euros for 3 courses, very good value. There is a pleasant garden set with tables for a pre-dinner drink if you wish. A longer stay if you wanted to explore the area would very enjoyable.
