I have had some great pizza at Mellow Mushroom and some really bad pizza at Mellow Mushroom...my worst experience was the Cajun pizza and when I told the waitress that recommended this pizza that it was uneatable because it was covered in hot sauce...she did nothing and ask us if we wanted a box to take home the other 75% of the pizza...which we responded "no" but we paid for the whole pizza despite it was uneatable...so you are taking your chances eating pizza at Mellow Mushroom so it is not my first choice for a pizza.

We were so anticipating this being a fabulous place to go for pizza; it's not local, but a national chain, like so many other successful pizza chains. We walked in & were told it would be a 15-minute wait; finally, my husband went to ask how much longer; it was more than 30 minutes altogether, which would have been acceptable on a busy Friday night EXCEPT we were seated in an area full of empty tables! No, a herd had not just exited, either, so not the best impression for a first-time visit!

We did have a terrific server, & she made great recommendations: We tried the Bruschetta & the Magic Mushroom soup, & both were wonderful & fresh & priced well :) The medium House Pizza---which has meats & veggies (very similar to what one would find on a Supreme at Pizza Hut or another similar chain)---was very fresh-tasting, but really lacked "pizzazz" because it featured no herbs & spices. It was bland to our taste, although very good; we're used to flavors being complemented by fennel, oregano, etc.

I ordered Creme Brulee, & it was nearly burnt on top in the middle, which definitely detracted from the flavor overall. It was over-priced at $5.95, as was the 6-slice House Special pizza at $22.00! It was also annoying that after enjoying a few beers with our meal---priced at $4.50 (Dry Dock Apricot Blonde) & $5.00 (Crazy Mountain Horseshoes & Hand Grenades) EACH---we were charged $2.50 for a soft drink (ordered afterward). Most great establishments do not charge for a soft drink after alcohol is consumed. Overall, fresh & tasty, but absolutely overpriced.

The food is great, however, the service takes forever and the food is very overpriced. Would not recommend unless you have both time and money to waste.

Went here for late lunch with a friend... had the most amazing pizza. Crust like nothing I've ever tasted before. So fresh tasting and not greasy like the big chains. Great topping choices too. Lovely salad to go with it. Dining room was a little noisy but the service was great. Cute atmosphere and very clean. Will go again next time I'm in town... highly recommend!

Went to dinner with a young couple we're discipling and was really surprised. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. A little pricey and the name reminded me of something out of the 70's but it was really good. Recommended.
