Booked on the spur of the moment my wife and I found ourselves at the Andreas Apartments in May 2011 on a Self Catering holiday. The place of Gouves is VERY quiet! If you want tranquility this is the place for you. The family who own the apartments were absolutely great! Brother and sister who take care of the day to day running of the place were just the best! Great fast food - on demand! The room was fine. We were a little cold due to a sudden and unexpected cold spell, but the owners made all necessary provsions for us so that the holiday was not spoiled.
We used the bus to travell about and saw lots of great places.
I managed to dig up some 3,500 year old Minoan pottery which is now on display at the Heraklion Museum! (Not a recommended activity - the authorities were quite non-plussed when we turned up at the museum with priceless Minoan pottery in a Tesco's carrier bag!!) Quite a holiday!

Room Tip: Hire a car! This place is quite isolated.

Loved my stay at the Andreas, everyone one was so friendly and made me and my wife feel more than welcomed. The car hire from intercar was fantastic!!! we had good service and they made sure that I understood eevrything that I was signing up for. For less than 25 pounds you really cant go worng. this is a must have. will defo go back.

Stayed at the Andreas first week in May. Were blessed by excellent weather and lovely Greek hospitality.
Minas and Manya who run the appartments are really friendly and make you feel very welcome.

Good facilities on site, including reasonably priced snack bar open from 9 to 9 and small, but adequate pool, for the size of the accommodation.
Dined out most nites, with our favorites being Georges and The Island, both a few minutes walk. However the selection around and close to the Andreas is very very good.

Would go back to the Andreas in a heartbeat, although, be aware the main shopping strip in Gouves itself seems to be very very quiet. Appreciate, it was the start of the season.

We just returned from Andreas Apartments in the early hours of this morning. We had a fantastic time. The apartments were extremely clean, with fresh towels everyday. Mania was an excellent cook, the food was freshly cooked and extremely cheap. a typical full breakfast was only 4.50e. The moussaka was excellent and very tasty. The apartments were run by a family who were very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend the apartments to all our friends and hope to return in the future.
