“Another Spring In Paradise”
Reviewed June 7, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My Guest and I arrived at Villa Trivium on a cool, cloudy afternoon. We were greeted by a fire in the fireplace, fresh flowers from the garden and food items that I had requested in the Kitchen. Diego and his family provided the same excellent service that I had experienced
during my month stay in May 2015. The Strina Family, Angelo, Amelia, Diego and Sonia
are knowledgable, warm, service oriented hosts that brought me back for May in Tuscany
2016 and I plan to return to my "adopted family" for Tuscany 2017. The villa, the view, the gardens are lovely, the "family" makes this property 5 Star. Jerome, Colorado Springs, CO. USA

“Good value spring hideaway.”
Reviewed April 11, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We were very fortunate and happy to witness the arrival of spring in this wild part of Tuscany. The rates are very reasonable and the area is private and quiet in March / April. The host family and their parents were kind and my children were always happy to see them. The house was close to a large supermarket, which was important because we like self catering. I walked up the mountain everyday to listen to the birds, and to admire the views. The view from the cottage itself is just beautiful. I would love to go back, and I think I will. We drove from Kent, spending the first night in Switzerland (Lucerne).

“A place we will definately return to”
Reviewed October 30, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

After a long 1 day journey from the Netherlands to Italy we arrived very tired but that feeling disappeared immediately when we were welcomed by Amelia and Angelo who picked us up from the village to guide us to the house. They were entertaining the children when we were unpacking :-)
They were very friendly and service minded during our complete stay.We have two 1 year old twin girls so we had some questions about hiking, swimming and they helped us immediately.
We really enjoyed our stay and our holiday was a nice combination of walking with the kids, culture, relaxing, sight seeing, good food and nice wine.We went to Lucca, Pisa and Siena and this was also no problem with small kids. Diego arranged two buggies, babie beds and chairs for us.
We will definately come back to this house and meet the family again.
This was a perfect holiday

“Perfect italian paradise”
Reviewed October 3, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We returned to Il trebbio for the second year running. It's views and relaxing atmosphere is what we as a family wanted. We done the tourist trips last year to, Pisa and Florence and instead tried Siena. This was well worth the couple of hours in the car, Similar to Florence but less crowded and with just as much atmosphere. Wander around and find a street of the beaten track for a local pasta or pizza lunch. We also visited Lucca a couple of times just for dinner and a bike round the walls. However most of the time was spent by the local pool. We met some lovely people of all ages, and our children found friends which also helps!
The owners of the villa are adorable. I wish I could bring them home with me! Amelia is an incredible cook and provided us with a tasty jam tart italian style. If your not lucky enough to have your own Amelia, go to the local supermarket where they make something similar.
The italian way of life here is enviable, relaxed, happy, friendly and sociable. Everyone speaks and smiles!
If you are lucky enough to go on holiday here, keep it a secret. We don't want everyone knowing how great this place is!

“Stunning views from a beautiful, well equipped villa, complemented by charming hosts.”
Reviewed August 31, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed for two weeks with our four children aged from 8-18, and everyone found the bedrooms spacious, clean, but also beautifully decorated with lovely furnishings. All three rooms had ensuite bathrooms with large showers, and our teenagers also had the privacy of their own separate terrace and entrance to their room.
There was plenty to do with all the beautiful scenery and Tuscan towns to see, and of course plenty not to do with the sun terrace and loungers just outside.the door.
We interspersed day trips in Tuscany,,.with pool.trips to the affiliated pool a short walk.away in Albiano. The pool was perfect with a well run bar serving reasonably priced food, coffee/tea ice creams and alcohol - cold beer by the pool on a scorching afternoon = bliss! Swimming hats are compulsory but they have plenty to borrow. The same family run a lovely trattoria as well as a shop a short stroll away.
We did several day trips and enjoyed Pisa and Lucca the most, finding Florence a bit too crowded. Pisa we did afternoon/evening which worked well in the heat and it seemed to be less busy, Lucca had some lovely shops as well as being pretty. There were lots of closer views / villages to explore and we found that the people were all friendly as well as often being good at speaking English.
We all hugely enjoyed a trip to the Grotta del Vento - absolute amazing caves seen best doing the 3 hour tour. Be prepared for a pretty hair raising drive to get there, though!
Back at the villa, we found Diego and his family to be charming and helpful but not intrusive.Diego met us in Barga on the first day and we drove behind him to the villa where he then explained all the do's and don't s as well as giving us some tourist tips. His mother baked us a lovely fruit tart during our stay and the complimentary bottle of wine on arrival was so delightful, that we just had to buy several more to bring home, as well as some.of their own produced Olive oil.
We didn't see all there was , as we wanted to relax as well - this is definitely a place to return to and Il Trivium is the place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful villa. Very clean and spacious. The owners are lovely people who are keen to help if there are any problems. The views are stunning and if this villa was up for sale I'd snap it up. Visited their villa next door which was also lovely but we cannot wait to come back with our family next year to this one. We all had our own bedrooms and separate bathrooms which was a dream. Bbqs every night sitting on the balcony what more could you ask.

“A place of beauty and wonderful people”
Reviewed August 16, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I rented both villas with my husband and friends to celebrate my 60th birthday and it was truly a memorable week. Diego always responded to any of my questions before we arrived at the villas and while we were there, he and his family (Sonia - his wife and his father - Angelo) were so kind and attentive. Angelo stopped by to see if he could assist us in any way and he even brought us vegetables from their garden. The pride and care that they take in their homes is quite apparent.
The location of the villas in the hills is amazing as are the views from the terraces. The restaurant in Albiano -La Terrazza is very good and the pool was a welcome respite on hot days, not only that - how many pools have such great mountain views? This area of Tuscany is very special and I plan to return to Diego's villas some day. Highly recommended!
