The owner is a very nice couple. The place is very lovely, decorated in typical country style. It is an old village house surrounding with beautiful flowers, grass, pond. It was very quiet there and made me feel fully relaxed. Breakfast was simple but well-prepared and delicious. The dinning room and living room are also very beautiful and cozy. Will stay there again if in that area.

Room Tip: If you have heavy luggage, don't stay in rooms upstairs, because there is no elevator.

We spent 5 days at Clos du Golf staying in the charming Vigne du Golf. Katia and Mark were warm and engaged hosts. We had a meal with the other guests on our first night. The food Katia cooked was lovely and Mark kept the wines and conversation flowing. Next door is an excellent restaurant at Hotel Le Fleuray. There are great chateaux nearby and it is lovely to come back to a little haven of serenity each evening after some intense tourism.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay here in Aug. of 2010, and I've been meaning to write about it ever since. It was quaint, cozy, and Mark and Katia were the most gracious of hosts. Some of my fondest memories were when we were relaxing in the back yard over some complimentary wine that Mark had made. He brought it over and offered it with such pride, and we sipped it as we watched the sun setting over the rural 9-hole golf course that it perimeters the backyard. Meanwhile, Katia was preparing a hostess gift for a couple who had invited them over for dinner, by gathering herbs like rosemary and lavender from their garden. She wrapped them up so beautifully that you would have thought she had purchased them from a local flower shop. Another favorite moment was sitting in the living room looking at their photo albums of when they purchased what was once a dilapidated row farmhouse, and snapped photos of the remodel, as my husband played works of Yann Tiersen on the their piano--heavenly! Lastly, we had the best meal of our 10-days in France at the restaurant in the B&B next door, which came highly recommended by them. In fact, it might have been the best meal of my life, for that matter. One day we hope to stay here again, for it's charm, Mark and Katia, it's location (close to some of the best sights in the Loire Valley, and for it's simple pleasures and the memories we made during our short stay.

We absolutely enjoyed our 7 days long stay at this lovely family-led bed & breakfast housing. The hosts (Mark and Katia) were very friendly and welcoming and provided us with great tips for our daily sightseeings. The place was very clean and cosy and we felt like home from the very start. We can clearly recommend this place and we would come back any time!

Katia and Mark made us welcome and were helpful regarding places to see and directions to these places. We were offered a pot of tea on arrival but were charged for this on our final invoice. I thought this would have been complementary as there were no tea or coffee making facilities in our room and we were paying 70 euros per night.
It is in a lovely area and convenient for visiting many towns and chateaux in the surrounding areas.
Our room was small and clean. The swimming pool is very small and would be better described as a plunge pool.

Despite the short notice (we were relocating from a different B&B that didn't work out), we were greeted warmly and accommodated in a small, but lovely room for the remainder of our stay in the Loire. Mark and Katia made us feel welcome, showing us around the grounds and golf course, even making us a dinner reservation the night we arrived (at the wonderful restaurant next door at the Hotel Fleuray). Charming and unpretentious, we hope to return at some point in the future!

Sometimes in life you come across something really special and that happened to us when we discovered the Clos du Golf and the wonderful proprietors - Mark and Katia. But like all good things, we do not want to publicise it too much just in case it is full next time we tried to book!

We arrived after a serious of misdirections caused by our Satnav - it delivered us to a nearby pig farm owned by Mr Bacon (honestly) - but that was my fault for loading it wrong. Our first sight of the Hotel was even better than the photographs we had seen on the internet. Then we were met by Katia, she had the biggest, welcoming smile we have ever experienced when checking in to a Hotel ! It was not long before her husband Mark joined us and he continued the wonderful warm welcome.

We entered the premises via the "Golfers" entrance and went straight into the lounge - a beautiful beamed room with a vaulted ceiling - incredible ! Our room was the Levante, which is the smallest room on property, but this was due to the fact that we only booked a few days earlier and this was the last room left (we were told about this in advance)

However it was more than comfortable and had an en suite toilet and shower room. It was immaculately clean and functional.

That evening we enjoyed a beautiful, home cooked four course meal, with our hosts, accompanied by some high quality local wine. What a wonderful evening it was, it felt like we were sharing an evening with old friends, so relaxed and free flowing was the conversation

Breakfasts were typically French, a choice of cereals/yoghurt, freshly home baked croissants, French breads and a selection of preserves, tea or coffee. An ideal start for the day.

Katia is a mine of information and came up with some superb suggestions of places to see and visit, including the marvelous Artisans Museum in Amboise. She was even able to supply us with the best routes to follow to ensure we maximised the short time we had.Google beware!

During the next two days, other guests arrived, most of whom were returners, but the atmosphere never changed, neither did the quality of the food and wine !
So we departed full of sorrow, as it felt like we were leaving old friends behind - thank you Katia and Mark for allowing us into your home and for making us feel so welcome.

So if you read this review, and , you visit Mark and Katia, please don't tell too many people how wonderful it is , as we may not be able to get a booking in the future !
