We chose Halaveli based on comments of several websites and blogs, and it didn't disappoint me. There's lots of information about restaurants menu, excursions, spa available online, so we could be well prepared beforehand.
Constance lounge at the airport was very cozy. We boarded the island on May 5th, 2014, and greeted by Mike, who is the guest relations supervisor and adept at Chinese. She showed us around the facilities and our water villa No. 75, located near the distal end of longest jetty of Maldives.
Our water villa is a good place for beginners of snorkeling. Sea level was between knees and waist. Abundant coral reef and marine life were just less than 20 meters of our villa.
We enjoyed our breakfast and dinner in Jahaz restaurant. The only disadvantage is that the breakfast is too monotonous. I recommended Jing restaurant for dinner, and every customer of Halaveli should try at least once. Great atmosphere, delicious Asian food, and considerate service could all be found there. A great variety of cocktails in Jing bar are also amazing, but smoking area should be separated. We spent out last afternoon in Jahaz bar, and were astonished by its famous Halaveli burger.
We booked excursions at the TGI diving center. Snorkeling with the turtles was just in front of water villas of Kandolhu island. We saw lots of fish, and two kinds of turtles. We also participated in traditional night fishing. Unfortunately, no one caught any fish in that night. We asked one of crews about fishing skills, but he seemed not good at speaking English.
We booked Ayurvedic massage at the spa center, and that was a great experience. We enjoyed the authentic massage skills and watched fishes swimming just beneath the floor.
There was a party in the Jahaz bar on Tuesday night. We were greeted by Raj and decent cocktails. We talked about the brand concept of Constance group and Halaveli.
We were told that our seaplane schedule was 17:50, and we should be at main reception one our before our flight. Actually, when we showed up, the staff just said that we could stay in the hospitality lounge. We could have enjoyed the beach more!
After all, we would plan another stay after next renovation.
