We walked the Hooker Valley Track 20th July 2014. It took us (three adults and our 6 year old son) about three hours which included plenty of stops to take photos. The night before we arrived it had snowed but by the time we got there we were greeted by beautiful blue sky's and plenty of snow. We would highly recommend doing this walk as it was breathtaking and absolutely beautiful. Do not give up..... walk right to the end, it is well worth it.

Amazing but you need to have a level of fitness and skill. The view of the lake was stunning. Get the cameras out as plenty of good photo snaps

What a beautiful track. Make sure that you try to do this on a sunny day! We left around 10.30 am Today, and the sun lit up the mountains and the entire track just wonderfully, breathtaking views. Even though we've done a lot of exciting and beautiful activities (skydiving/ice explorer at Franz Josef, Abel Tasman, Milford Sound) this definitely was one of our highlights!!

Nice swingbridges, stunning mountainview, nice waters - beautiful icy lakes, do not miss out on this :)!

(even though the track wasn't that cold, it can be nice (not necessary though) to take some gloves and a beanie, it's a bit chilly at the lake)

We walked to the glacier with our three young daughters, who moaned about the walk. But who were all absolutely amazed by the time they saw the glacier, ice bergs and Mt Cook close up.
Definitely the best views ever, that we have seen. Awe inspiring 100%

Fantastic, beautiful landscape. So lucky, it was a beautiful sunny day when i did the Hooker Valley track, about 4 hours comfortable walk for both ways with an added experience of three swing rope bridges, streams, awesome scenery and etc. At the end of the trail you can see glaciers blue with Mt Cook as a back drop. A must do walk.
