An extremely well appointed modern motel with everything you could need. Spacious, clean rooms with a friendly reception from the owners.
The rooms have a small seating area outside for a drink and air con in the rooms.
Couldn't have asked for anything more really!

It was our second stay at this motel. And everything was great except one thing. The rooms are still perfectly clean, service is great, but traffic noise at night was just unbearable. This time we were in the closest room to the road (unit 16). Well that room is the last in the motel and situated right next to the main road. I couldn't get any sleep first night because of the traffic noise. We had to close all windows but it didn't help. Next night was a bit better with the help of earplugs. So if you are quite sensitive to traffic noise be careful with room selection.
It is quite sad to write this review because this is a good motel and we've really enjoyed our previous stay.

All we can say is if your in whakatane this is a must stay motel. We run a motel ourselves in rotorua and have to say we wish we were as modern as The Landing . The rooms were immaculate and the spa baths were a highlight. We enjoyed our stay so much we drove back to whakatane 2 days later to stay again thanks guys we will be back next time we get a break.

I have stayed at this motel on 2 occasions and both times I have been extremely happy. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean and modern. Excellent appliances, beautiful furnishings and comfortable bedding. One of the best motels we stayed in during our trip! Loved the free wi fi In my opinion this motel was great value for money. Our host Robb was more than accommodating.

We stayed one night here before our scheduled tour to White Island. The location was great being an easy 5 minutes drive from the town centre. The room was clean and spacious and the crisp, modern interior was comparable to that of a 3.5-4 star hotel. Check-in was fuss free though I wouldn't say it's overly great value-for-money considering we have been able to pay similar rates at 5-star hotels in other parts of NZ.

Though our tour was cancelled due to bad weather we were glad we stopped by this lovely seaside town. 37 The Landing is a good choice for a short stay.

We stayed for 2 nights to ensure a landing on White Island if the weather got rough. Even though the weather was perfect we're glad to stay at 37 for 2 night. The rooms are fantastic, great size, well appointed facilities and a spa bath that was ideal for getting rid of the sulphur pong that had soaked into the pores at White Island. The bed was great as well. The spot was an good walk to the main street for supermarkets and cafes. The number of business travellers in accompanying rooms was also a good recommendation.

This place opened at the end of 2011 so their blurb says, & it still looks as new as it did on opening day. My room was very spacious, massive bed, even bigger spa bath, mega shower cubicle, very big TV and best of all, the softest, most plush carpet I have ever known, certainly way above the standard I would expect for a motel in small town Whakatane. The décor & colours look great & the touches of schist stone in the building looks awesome. Due to work, I stay in a lot of NZ motels & this is probably the best so far. Well worth the money, you wont be disappointed I'm sure.

Room Tip: Some are further away from the main road due to the horseshoe shape layout.
