We spent two nights here on our way to Napier. It was my first experience at a bed&breakfast, and a wonderful experience. Ann and Peter are wonderful people, they have a lovely home. We felt extremely comfortable because the rooms are lovely and the bathrooms are clean. Their breakfast is awesome and they have a nice backyard. I will definitely go back when I'm in New Zealand.

Room Tip: The mountain view room is great.

Many thanks for your review, we were pleased to hear that you still managed to enjoy your stay with us, despite you not feeling so good at the time, and thanks again for the lovely pictures of the property that you emailed through. Thanks, Anne.

This B&B is just a few kilometres outside the town centre, located in a very quiet and rural area. The rooms are good and clean and in my case the bathroom was not attached which was a bit inconvenient but nobody else was using this part of the house. There were 2 small single beds and all amities were there, but there was no lock on my bedroom door. The hosts were always around and safety is not an issue at all. Continental breakfast is served and the table is shared by the other guests as well which gives a nice opportunity to exchange travel experiences. For a short stay this place would be fine but would not recommend it for longer stay, at least not in the room I stayed in; I prefer to have my bathroom attached.

Many thanks for taking the time to review our property. I feel we should clarify that as described on our web-site and advertising brochures, the Garden Room you booked, is fully enclosed within a private domain, existing of a separate/private bathroom, and hallway. This area locks off totally from the rest of the house for privacy, making it only ever accessible for guests staying in that room.
I am sorry you found the single bed small, they are full size single and reportedly very comfortable. We do provide front door keys for guests, and the bedroom doors can be locked internally. Our upstairs rooms are all ensuited, but were possibly booked on the night you stayed with us. Thanks again, Anne.

We were here for 2 nights for my birthday in June 2012, and what a great place to celebrate. Lovely Anne and Peter chatted with us, gave us a ride into town, and showed us around. I wish I had time to get a massage from Anne, but we definitely had time for a delicious breakfast that Pete prepared and awesome yogurt and healthy homemade bread that Anne made. We especially loved the thoughtful plating of the hot breakfast for us, as my boyfriend is a chef, he thought that was cute! Awesome shower pressure, great view from sea view room, great B&B atmosphere with the perfect amount of privacy for occupants as well, I liked that touch. And most comfortable mattresses EVER! We still talk about those almost 6 months later! Close to town, or an easy walk, tranquil, great spot to start your Coro tour, or just to get away from it all.

Room Tip: Either way, they're all good.

We spent a lovely night at Mangrove Manor - Anne and Peter were gracious hosts and had great suggestions for what to do in the area. The room was clean, well supplied, and quiet. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast as we were trying to catch the right tide at Hot Water Beach.

In our rush to leave, we left a pair of jeans at the house and didn't realize until we left the country. Anne was extremely helpful in arranging to ship them back to us in California!

Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Such a spacious and comfortable B&B, and such friendly & helpful hosts Anne & Peter. It Is a truly beautiful place, and well located in very peaceful surroundings, only a couple of minutes drive to town.
Great guest facilities, upstairs and down. We stayed upstairs and enjoyed beautiful views over the bay. Breakfast was superb, Anne's scrumptious homemade bread, along with Peter's morish bacon & eggs, we enjoyed the guest dining area the first morning, then dined al fresco the next day and it was beautiful in the sunshine taking in the beautiful views. We truly enjoyed our stay, and found the environment so relaxing and recharging. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Upstairs is very relaxing, and the sleigh beds are so incredibly comfortable.
