This is a very quirky and interesting experience - hard to describe really. Very impressive what one man and his passion can do - building a railroad by himself, designing the railway cars, and planting 25,000 trees (including 9000 endangered kauri trees) on hilly dairy land, which has over the years become a rain forest. If you go to Coromandel Peninsula, I think this is a must-see. Whether you like his pottery, or think it is over-priced as some reviewers say, it is certainly a testament to ingenuity, eccentricity and sheer passion. And the views from the Eyeful Tower are spectacular. My husband and I went, but I think children and teenagers would love this also.
