A very interesting visit - especially after wandering around the great old stone and brick cathedrals of Britain, Italy, & France. This building is classically Colombian: totally medieval in its form and function --- but less than a century old and built entirely with steel re-enforced concrete !! If you look closely you can see the grain pattern in the wooden forms and planks that were used in the construction.
An architectural marvel that deserves a close look, so make sure that you take the tour that goes all the way to the top. Some of the climbing is interior, on spiral steel staircases and some of it is external, along roof ridges, but all of it is safe with handrails and security cages. Try to do the climb when it is sunny for a brilliant view on Manizales.
