Just come back from CB its my second time around and it still looks the same after 5 years Lol but we still had fun its a average hotel so don't expect too much some of the staff need some customer care skills and need to smile more and be friendly but hey that's the Caribbean for you, one that come to mind is yuni she was very very rude and unprofessional for her position and needs to be demoted to washing plates but apart from that i've got to give credit and thanks to the staff i can remember especially Chris and Mia (great full moon party) not forgetting big ted his the man also Kevin from silks very professional kev willson, princess lovely woman the 2 jade's Tessa all the bar staff and kitchen staff very good job.
CB does need a lot of improvement like the rooms, showers (ALWAYS COLD) lazy river, water slides, entertainment (especially afternoon) better spirits at the bar that you don't have to pay for, breakfast and lunch (same every day and some times cold) more lighting outside on the theme night when having dinner, internet/wifi its a crime to be charging $40 its terrible should be free but still a nice resort to visit probably still visit again hopefully Karl the GM we met when we was leaving will change things up and CB will be the best.
Well thanks for having us all the best and see CB in a few years hopefully with loads of improvements

This was our first time visiting St. Lucia and we stayed at a resort on the south side of the island called Coconut Bay. The resort itself was great but the best part was the excursion we went on which was a sightseeing tour of some of the major destinations on the island. The tour included driving to the highest point of the island, driving to the Soufriere volcano, taking mud baths, and finally seeing one of the islands waterfalls. Our driver David is a native of St. Lucia and was very knowledgeable about the island. The tour gave us a better understanding of the island, its people and the economy surrounding them.
My girlfriend and I were staying at Coconut bay and wanted to see more of the island than just the resort. We decided to ask the concierge for help and the knowledgeable staff recommended a lot of options but the couple’s retreat of the island seemed to fit us the best. The tour itself was a half a day long which meant we could come back in time to enjoy a relaxing evening. The tour itself started at nine in the morning so don’t drink too much the night before, the roads on the island aren’t the best for hangovers.
We were very comfortable from each destination to the next because we road in a spacious new sedan. There was soda, water and snacks all provided to us in the car which were also a bonus. From our experience, it also reminded us of home because apparently country music is the most popular genre in St. Lucia and was played our whole trip.
David, our driver was great. He was the only employee from the tour company that we met but he gave the company a great face. Any question we asked was promptly answered and also taught us how St. Lucia’s economy remained stable. David was also a very safe driver, always driving under the speed limit and keeping his eyes on the road. Towards the end of the tour we were scheduled to go to the botanical gardens but asked about the waterfall. David quickly gave us the option of going to the waterfall instead to make the tour more suitable for what we wanted. The waterfall ended up being our favorite part of the trip, so we owe that memory to him. I would recommend David to anyone and everyone.
The tour took us to the southern peak which provided a great view of the island. You could see for miles and miles. Then if you turned around you could look out at the ocean. It was a truly beautiful sight. Then David drove us a long way to the volcano Soufriere. I would recommend bringing nose plugs for that part of the tour because the smell of sulfur is everywhere around the volcano. The volcano creates a mineral rich soil and because of a local stream, there is a mud bath down the road a little bit which we took part in too. I can’t say the mud bath cleared up my skins and all that but it did give us a great memory and some funny pictures. Finally we went to the waterfall which was amazing. The water was a bit cold but that is because it was coming straight from the rainforest on the island. Easily one of the most naturally romantic spots on the island.
The couple’s escapade tour is more than what it seems. Giving us a great understanding of how the island operates and what the people of it do on a day to day basis. Before the tour we looked at the island a just a beach with some local’s in-between but now we understand it is one of the biggest exporters of bananas in the world. We also were taught St. Lucians main form of transportation is on public busses. It was also very surprising to find out that 80% of the tourists that go to this island are from the United Kingdom which shows how international tourism is expanding quickly. The tour provides different jobs for locals such as being tour guides, salesmen of local crafts at all the destinations, mud bath operators and many more.
After the tour, we have a much greater respect for St. Lucia as a whole and cannot wait to go back. From the wonderful staff everywhere we went to the comfort of the backseat of David’s sedan, everything was wonderful and we miss every second of it. To anyone reading this looking for a little get away for the day, definitely do this tour (with David if possible), you won’t regret it!

Just returned on the 23rd Jan from a two week stay at the Coconut Bay beach resort and Ive got to say it was amazing and anyone rating this hotel less than a 4-5 must be mad. Have travelled to every different continent and the staff were the friendliest we have met. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they genuinely wanted you to really enjoy your food, your day and your stay in St Lucia not just in their hotel. Food was plenty as were the drinks, and all of a good quality, and very well presented (try the dirty banana cocktail). The restaurants were excellent Kalabash best, La luna and the Silk second, very closely followed by the Carribean themed night which is held weekly outside and with the steel band, fire-eaters & dancers made for a great night. The entertainment every night was very good, not corny acts put on by travel reps but very good singers & musicians from singers to guitarists to the lady who played the clarinet.
Try having breakfast upstairs (adults only) from the menu at 8am onwards, total relax and beautiful views and the egg benedict with salmon or blueberry pancakes & maple syrup is so so good (see photos)
Rooms were cleaned everyday, flowers and petals etc left on beds (extremely comfortable queen mattress and pillows) and then monkeys left hanging from our fan designed out of our towel... fabulous! Wherever your room is its just two minutes walk from food, pools, bars reception so you never have far to walk to anything! oh and free wi-fi in reception or $40 for wi-fi in your room for your full stay.
Swimming pools were plenty (small slide and lazy river for kids, peace and quiet for adults) whether you wanted to stay on the Splash side or go over to Harmony, there were always lots of spaces all day and no towels left to secure beds at all which was great as you could lay wherever you wanted and had a choice of many fantastic views to relax with!
Special mention to Thomas who sells his shells and carved coconuts near the jacuzzi, please go and see him and buy a little something from him, absolutely lovely, lovely man!
What else can I say but dont give this hotel a miss it really is fabulous, and only two minutes from the airport but I have to add that even though its so close its over a large hill and does NOT affect your peace & quiet at all. Also even though you are on the atlantic side of the island its beautiful and one hour drive through the rain forest and your at Castries, Marigot Bay , Rodney bay etc and only 35 minutes from Soufriere.
LASTLY I JUST WANT TO SAY A BIG THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF AT COCONUT BAY FOR AN AMAZING TIME & WITHOUT DOUBT WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT JANUARY!!!

Room Tip: First floor rooms on either Splash or Harmony will give you a wonderful balcony view!

We went to the resort for our destination wedding and traveled with about 30 of our friends and family, including our two small children. I can not say enough nice things about this vacation/resort. The wedding coordinator Barbara was wonderful and really made our day special. We got married at the eternity beach and had the reception there. Everything was great. They did their best to accommodate our every need. Most of my guests stayed on the adults only side and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We stayed on the splash side and I have to admit I was nervous after reading some reviews, however our rooms were spacious and clean. Our housekeeper Stella was also amazing and did a great job everyday. We stayed on the first floor so we could go out our patio to the pool which I recommend with the small kids. The resort itself was very spacious and never felt crowded. We spent most of our time at the zero entry pool with the swim up bar hanging out with our kids and guests. We never had any trouble finding seats by the pool. We tried all of the restaurants and found the food to be spectacular. We were never hungry and always found things for the kids to eat( one is a really picky eater). Overall I would return to this resort. It fit our families every need and our wedding was beautiful!

My son aged and I arrived to spend the day on a day pass at the water park and we very excited.we were half an hour early and the security woman said we could go on the beach. On the beach we were turned back by a chap in a golf buggy who said we had to get a form from security. ..The woman on the gate said we couldn't sign the form until 10 am. ..so I said we're not allowed on the beach then she argued we were but told us to go and sit and wait where all the staff were waiting to be let in...Our excitement disappeared. ..when we were ALLOWED in through the security at reception we paid. We were given the briefest bit of information about the day pass...a map of the hotel and list of what our day pass payment included would have been helpful and considerate.I think for $181 us dollars that we paid this could have been included?
My son loved it and so I did too and he would love to return...I however will try to avoid this place.

Cindy R, Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the mix up in communication that you encountered and that it hindered your overall experience with us. We are definitely looking into this matter to prevent this mix up from happening in the future. We do hope you chose Coconut Bay again some day. Cheers and safe travels, Karl.
