“Amazing Outstanding Breathtaking Vacation”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

First of all I just want to say that if you are deciding wether or not to book this hotel you have to book it! DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY NEGATIVE REVEIWS! There is not one tiny thing wrong with this hotel they are all picky. The staff is extremely hardworking and kind. The food is outstanding especially at silk and Capri. The pools are great. The beach is super clean and relaxing! The rooms are nice and clean! The resort and all te amenities are clean and neat! The watersides and the lazy river are great to break up the day and to add more excitement to the day. The selection at all of the bars is big. The drinks are amazing and there are many non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to choose from. The water sports are fun. The themed nights are really cool and entertaining along with the entertainment bands ,singers ,etc every night. The staff are really the nicest any person could be. You form friendly relationships with them throughout your stay. There are many restaurants to choose from. So if you are thinking wether or not to book this hotel don't miss out on this once in a lifetime amazing experience at coconut bay resort and spa in St. Lucia! DON'T DELAY AND BOOK COCONUT BAY TODAY!

Resort: Coconut Bay
• First impression of the grounds was good, very well maintained.
• Front desk staff was very courteous and helpful.
• Very large lobby area with several chairs/loungers/couches BUT the cushions were very worn down. It hurt the ‘ole bottom if had to sit there very long! Ha!
• The lobby area did have free Wi-Fi and was the only place it was available. Not sure why they didn’t have it all over the resort, but didn’t bother me any!
• First impression of the room…well…just “OK”.
o It really needs painting…looks run down. Made you feel kinda dirty.
o The shower did have some black mold in between the tiles.
o The room had a “funky” smell but we just sprayed air freshener
o The bed was hard…so hard that our hips were so very sore because we are side sleepers. I slept on the little couch one night so I could get some rest!
o We did have adjoining rooms which was PERFECT for 5 women traveling together!
o Plenty of closet space
o There was a safe in the room and very easy to use.
o Our sliding door to the balcony had issues. It was bowed in the middle and gapped on the top and bottom, which would cause the wind to blow thru it, which caused a “whistling” sound of the wind whipping thru! This was aggravating!
• Around resort…defiantly needs some updating…heck paint would make it look 10 times better! It just looks run down and worn out!
• Food/Drinks…I didn’t go hungry but I can always find "something" to eat.
o There was a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not a whole lot of variety…but anyone should be able to find something to eat. There were other areas to dine, but must reservations and we did not take the time to do this.
o One complaint there is they have it set up as only 1 line and a grill/cook at the end of the line with only ONE cook. It takes forever to go thru the line if you hit it during busy time!
o There was also a grill out by the pools to get hamburgers, hot dogs, etc…One thing noticed, the hamburgers have some seasoning on them which make them taste “spicey”. I didn’t like.
o The bars were not in the best locations for easy access if out by the pool/beach. It for sure saved them money on alcohol for us as we got tired of getting up/down to go get drinks! No one walked around taking drink orders.
o There was a bar right beside the pool on the Harmony side, BUT they did not have a blender (which we asked more than once to get) to make frozen type drinks.
o There was a pool bar BUT it was in the KIDS pool area!! This was crazy…we for sure didn’t want to hang out in the kids pool at the bar!
• Staff was very nice and courteous. No complaints at all!!
• Beach area…
o Since we were on the Atlantic side, the waves were pretty strong.
o There was a LOT of turtle grass/sea weed. We did not get in water much because of this…just yuck!
o Of course with strong waves and Atlantic side, the water was not the pretty clear water we like to see.
• Entertainment…
There was nightly entertainment in the lobby…a singer/band each night.
Karaoke one night…it was fun watching others for a while…then enough was enough of the bad singing! Ha!
There was a disco, but we never went to it…party poopers!!!
They did have staff doing stuff thru out the day, but again, we did not participate.
There is a water park on the resort. We did venture over and ride in the tubes around the lazy river...again, just needs some updating/painting!

Overall, I would not go back unless I knew they did some renovating! I am not that picky, but just did not feel "clean" even though there was always someone cleaning. Just too run down to look clean!

We just for back from a fantastic holiday at Coconut Bay. Our party ranged from 8-65 years old and we all had an equally great time.
The amenities are excellent. The kids loved the slides, lazy river and kids club. There was plenty if space to lay out by the pool or on the beach - no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put towels on loungers. Very relaxing environment but with plenty of activities if you wanted - we loved the beach and pool volleyball games, water polo and aqua fitness sessions. We did a couple of great day trips out and the staff were really helpful even when we were organising trips ourselves.
Food is good - but not great if you are a vegetarian as one as one of our party was. Fine if you eat fish though.
Being on the Atlantic side means the sea isn't totally calm but you get a very welcome breeze which meant you could really enjoy sitting out in the sun.
Rooms are basic but clean and have everything you need.
The spa was a delight - esp the massage in the beach cabana.
Staff were fab - particular shout outs to Natasha at the Beach Grille (who had one of the hottest jobs in the resort), Vanessa at Capri, Skinny Anson for his fun aqua fitness sessions and Ritney for his competitive spirit in the volleyball games.
We would definitely consider going back. I highly recommend as a family destination.

My Husband and I spent a wonderful week here and had a GREAT time. We also renewed our wedding vows in the Gazebo on the ocean. Our wedding cordinator (Onita) was wonderful and very attentive, as were the whole staff. I would definetly recomend the vow renewal to all. We stayed in the Harmeny section on the 4th floor which is adults only. The rooms were very nice and we overlooked the ocean, which always had very nice breezes. The adult pool bar was soooo much fun. the bartender (Junuis) was wonderful, always singing, telling stories and sooo much energy. He really went out of his way to get everybody relaxed and having fun. Thanks Junuis!! Also, we don't want to forget to mention Wade ( the trainee bartender), he was also excellent, always very friendly and quick to get your drinks. Mitch, the swimup bar bartender was also sooooo much fun, he would also sing and make sure everybody was having a great time. A special thanks to our Great housekeeper Shirley. Shirley would make up a new animal with towels everyday and leave them on our bed for a special surprise, she always made sure our room was spec & span and even decorated our room with flowers on our vow renewal day. Would also like to mention the following great employee's that we encountered during our stay - Chris (Resteraunt Manager) always mingling with the guest to make sure the food & service was good, Kevin (Food & Drinks Manager) Thanks for stopping and talking with us and making sure we had special dinner reservations on our vow renewal day and offering us your services on anything special we may need, Mark ( Hotel Manager) always available and mingling with guest to make sure they were happy and being taken care of, Jade & Ken always helpful also, in all, the employee's are always freindly and willing to do what ever possible to make your stay Great. Food was not a five star, but was always good, always fresh, and always had a great variety to choose from, Silks & Calabash resteraunts were diffentely 5 Star, we tried them both. Only problem with specialty rest. is that Men must wear long pants with No exceptions. would like to see them alow the Men to wear dress shorts with collared shirts, as it is cooler for the Men.
The grounds were always kept up beautifuly, always clean. The pools were always clean and water temp. was just right, not to hot and not to cold, very refreshing, and don't forget to try the lazy river and the water slide, they were fun All and all this is a GREAT place to stay, and a GREAT Value. And the bonus is that is just 4 - 5 minutes from airport. Was great after traveling all day. check in was a breeze, room wasn't ready yet, but it was worth the wait. And who could mind when you have plenty of bars and food to choose from as you await your room being cleaned for you!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND. WE WILL BE BACK!!! And for those of you who love to scuba dive - the diving is out of this world, beautiful colored coral and clear water - Thanks Charlie and Curtis from Ignuas Diving - you guys are wonderful, very professional and very friendly, one of our best dive experience and we have done over 350 dives around the world, we will see you in January when we stop in Saint Lucia for the day on our cruise.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 462 in the Adults Only Harmany section. Top floor, overlooking the beautiful ocea...

Coconut Bay looks good on its website. We booked our trip through Costco.com. Overall, the resort offers many nice amenities including its multiple pools, waterslides and lazy river. However, the rooms are substandard. We had a struggling AC that never got the room much below 75. It started out at 78. The toilets didn't flush completely, and my daughter got locked in the bathroom requiring staff to come open the door. The staff, overall, seem unfriendly. We did have some excellent staff including Mitch, Skeete and Jimmy at the bar and Etto in the cafe. Vanessa at the Capri restaurant was downright rude to my family over a reservation mixup.

My Spouse and I had a great time here. You really can't beat the value, and the location to the airport.

It was the perfect place for a 4 day getaway to just relax and reconnect with friends, and family. The only thing I'll agree with, by some of the less positive reviews is that the food isn't 5 star, but doesn't need to be. The breakfast buffet was fresh with several choices. I highly recommend the Ginger Tea to start the day. To be honest, when it came time for lunch and dinner we were so spent from swimming and exploring the property, we really weren't looking for fine dining. Just something tasty and filling, we got it in abundance.

Oh, Another thing.. The beach DOES have quite a bit of seaweed on it. And since the property is on the East side of the island, the seas are usually rough. The good news is that there's ALWAYS a great breeze coming through. And I mean ALWAYS. It feels so good, that it more than makes up for the choppy water. Plus, if you take a walk towards town, you'll discover an oceanfront park where the water is calmer.

Like I said for the value you just can't beat it.

One recommendation though. Be generous with the Tips. The staff works very hard, and they more than deserve it. Since everything is all inclusive, throw your favorite staff members a few Bucks here and there. Tipping isn't encouraged by signs or anything, but it's more than appreciated.

Finally, For the grown ups, be sure and visit the Outside bar by the Adults Only pool for a Dirty Banana. I forget the bartender there, but He'll keep you laughing with songs and stories. You'll meet new friends and make some good memories over there. We surely did.

So-- To Recap: Looking for a long weekend and in that tropical location that's out of the Ordinary for outstanding Value? Then this is THE spot.

Enjoy.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ADULT side which is quieter. They say the upper floors give a better view of the oc...
