My wife and I had an absolutely wornderful and relaxed time staying for 2 nights at the Inn on the Harbour in Port Stanley, Ontario this January. This is not our first trip to the Inn as we live and work in London, Ontario. The Inn is a short drive from London, yet is world's away in regards to getting 'away' from the stresses of teenage children at home. We are undisturbed and able to get some quality time together as a couple, yet be close enough to home in case of an emergency.

We truly enjoy the location with it's shopping and wonderful places to eat and sometimes we just 'bunker-down' in the room with some snacks and bubbly and enjoy the wonderful views, especially from the rooms on the second floor and the second floor common room with it's large windows overlooking the boats and draw-bridge.

This is our favourite get away spot and we are planning to make it a regular stay every 2 or 3 months of the year, as each season has something to offer, such as the live theatre in the spring and summer and quiet surroundings during the winter months.

My wife loves it! I love it and it's great to go a couple of days with peaceful silence and not hearing "Dad"/"Mom". Staying at the Inn is a great way for us a couple to reconnect and it's cheaper than a divorce for sure.

Room Tip: Great views from rooms #11 & 12.

We recently stayed two nights in Port Stanley at Inn On The Harbour. WOW
Never having been there before, we didn't know what to expect.
Christine greeted us with a warm welcome in the cosy lobby, explaining highlights of the village to us and presented us with a daytripping map of the local area. Our room was so tastefully decorated in a rose with green and the patio door provided an unobstructed view of the harbour right out to the lake. (Staff who were very friendly and helpful also told us that every room in the inn has a water view). There were robes in the closet and we had a compact fridge for our beverages and nibbles. (A tasty breakfast basket in our room each morning). It is obvious the rooms were done with attention to detail to make the most comfort for the guests. They have a little inn right beside where we stayed and we had a chance to see the rooms there. They are newer and just amazing with themes and luxurious decor. The shopping was fabulous. We strolled around the quaint village, bundled up and went for a walk on the beach to see the beautiful sunset and mostly just cocooned in our room because we had a double Jacuzzi and fireplace. Within a block of the inn there are a variety of eateries to choose from with varied menus. We tried several and enjoyed every meal. There is something soothing about water and to have a waterfront room at an inn that provides such warm hospitality and charming spotless rooms, we will for sure go back to this inn and recommend it to our friends. (We daytripped on the way home and we would recommend that also.)

My husband and I recently spent the weekend at the Little Inn. We stayed in the African Safari room. The room was beautifully decorated. We had a peaceful time, and relaxed in the Jacuzzi tub. Anne gave us recommendations for dinner. We walked just across the road to Mickey's Boathouse and had a wonderful dinner. We went for a walk in the cool night air although not much was open at the time it was still a nice walk.

We enjoyed it so much we may just do it again, it was nice to go away and not have to drive for hours.

We recently spent one night at the Inn on the Harbour. We had organized this trip for a group of 10 people (5 couples) . After a rainy day on the motorcycles it was great to arrive to the warmth and cosey feeling of the Inn. We stayed in room 12 - one of the Loft Suites. The rooms was great. A perfect place to meet for wine and tapas before dinner by the fire. Our king size bed was very comfortable. My only issue was that although we did have a great view of the harbour where the fishing boats dock the fishing boats leave at 5:30 a.m.. They were right below our window so we heard them preparing to leave as if they were in our room. Our friends in room 9 heard them as well. Our friends in loft suite 11 did not hear them. So if you are a light sleeper loft 11 might be a better option.
They have 2 breakfast seatings - one at 8:30 and one at 9:00. unfortunaltely all of our group, minus one coupel was given the 9:00 seating. It would have been nice to sit together. When we enquired we were informed thatt because there was a wedding they were tight on space. In the warmer weather it would not have been an issue as they have a beautiful patio overlooking the harbour. Unfortunatley our day was cold and rainy so eating outside was not an option.
Breakfast was a selection of cold cereals, freshly baked mini croissants (still warm - yum), a selection of juices, and 2 different types of bread (whole wheat and raison).
The front desk was very helpful in recommending a place to have dinner and suggested we make a reservation given our large group, which we did. Good advice.
The only other issue was their cancellation policy. Given we had reserved 5 rooms, once booked the only way we would be refunded if one of our guests could not go was if they were able to book the room for that time, otherwise we were responsible for entire cost of the room. Not crazy about that. Luckily it was not a problem for us.
Despite these few minor points it was a great Inn and we would stay again!!
We all had a great weekend.

Romantic getaway with my man in the sweetest fishing village of Port Stanley. A warm autumn evening walk around this delightful village checking out the many choices of art galleries and restaurants on hand. The Inn on the Harbour feels like home, warm hospitality, beautiful suites - ours looked out over the harbour and the lake. We chose the Kettle Creek for dining - the best food and service. Our new favourite 'Ontario's Finest Inns'.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this inn very much. Our room was nicely decorated and was consistently clean. Anne, the innkeeper was very gracious and didn't hesitate to share her wealth of knowledge about this tourist area when asked. Very nice complimentary continental breakfasts on the deck overlooking the water. Loved the ambiance of the town. The only negative was because the weather was hot we needed to keep the air conditioning on at night and because they were individual through-wall units, it was a bit noisy.

This hotel looks great on the outside. The picturesque setting - right on the harbour - makes it seem ideal. But the staff are rude and difficult to deal with (snooty and unhelpful and sometimes downright intimidating), and that, coupled with the no less than four large posters on the hotel room door listing all offences punishable by fines or calls to the police, make this place fall from its star rating. The bedding was beginning to look drab (pillow covers had pulls and things generally seemed past their prime). The food made available at breakfast was all sugary canned fruit and sweet breads - nothing fresh or local on offer. This place is not worth the high price. Not at all. Try the Windjammer Bed and Breakfast - it's a gem.
