Think this pub is trying to be too many things. A bar for locals, and a classy restaurant just don't mix. Even though it wasn't busy, the service was poor, the fish & chips were just ok. in all not a great evening. Reading the other reviews it nearly seems we went to the wrong Dunure Inn.

We stayed one night for dinner and drinks and returned after the following day to stay the night in clean rooms with a view of the tiny harbor. Hugh and his family are hard workers and all personable. The chef is to be commended for his delicious food and great presentation of it. I recommend the razor clams or mussels if available, the fried haddock is grand. The bar atmosphere convivial. Finish your day withe lemon lime creme brûlée! You deserve it and you have a long way to drive tomorrow. Hugh can assist you with your route!
Also admire the beautiful pastel paintings of Jim Creg. Take a walk on the beach.

Room Tip: Harbor view!

Stayed for one night on the 2nd Sept with my husband. The hotel is cosy clean with efficient and friendly staff a great family run business with a warm welcome and not daunting. A perfect stay. The room is modern bright and clean with a superb view of the harbour loved sitting at the window before breakfast and watching the fishermen going out in their boats. Yes our room could have done with new pillows and mattress but the reasonable price of the room and the beautiful view made up for it. The food, wine and beers were great. In the evening we has fresh fish. The breakfast was clean, well presented with fresh produce. We were served by the owner who was friendly and his sister who cleans the inn was a lovely woman who took time to talk with us . We were served at night by the owners wife who was very professional and the local girl who served us at lunch was chatty and welcoming. A great team and a great place will definitely be back in the winter for some fresh sea food and dramatic waves.

We had a lovely peaceful stay at dunure Inn and its stunning location. We ate here on the first night of our stay; the food was lovely and my better half is still raving about his starter. Breakfast was tasty on both mornings and the staff were very helpful in preparing us an early breakfast on one morning. Loved the bar area which was really cool and quirky. We really enjoyed our stay.
