My wife and I spent a week near saltcoats and decided to have a drive down the coast, We stopped off in Dunure for a break in driving, looking at the Dunure inn we thought what a nice place, we carried on down the coast and on our return we went back to the Dunure inn for some Dinner, I wish we hadnt to be fair, I had the mussles for a starter which were fine, my wife had the pate, again ok but when the main course came it was really not to the standard I would expect from this sort of place, I had the T bone steak, Asked for it medium rare, the outside of the steak was very grey and didnt taste very nice at all, my wife had chicken stuffed with Haggis, The chicken was so dry, really not a nice meal at all as far as the main course goes, nearly £6 for a large glass of wine too, on the whole I wouldnt want to go back, A shame because the setting was so nice,

Stayed here last night with husband and other family members. We all agreed the hotel was fabulous - as was this morning's breakfast! Would definitely return (hopefully soon) and highly recommend it. The rooms, en-suites, and public areas are all furnished and decorated very tastefully and there was a welcoming warmth to the whole place. The views from the rooms are stunning too!

Visited the Dunure inn after walking the Ayrshire coastal path on one of the few sunny days of the summer. The Inn has a great outdoor beer garden at the rear of the property which is fantastic for drinks and eating outside. We had food which was good but over priced for what was on offer.
We had our dog with us and were told on arrival that dogs weren't permitted access to the building. This was fine until 5 mins after we finished our meal.... The rain came on and didn't stop!
We asked to go in to the small bar area but unfortunately the was not possible as "dogs are not permitted in the building" So we sat outside in the pouring rain drinking our after dinner coffees!
We were a little disappointed at being treated this way and can't help thinking the Dunure Inn are missing a trick by not making a small part of the Inn dog friendly!

Wonderful Setting but sadly lacking from Mine Host (Wife) very sullen.
Food was hit and miss. Fish and Chips excellent but all our other meals were miserable.
I had a starter fish dish which was described as gratin and when it came fish had raw appearance and breadcrumb topping was just that it had never been under a grill or oven to bake and brown. Children had ordered Fish and fries from kids menu but trades description would have a field day here it is actually FISH FINGER out of the freezer.
Overall love the place. Wife needs to go back to her own kitchen and hide from Public and Chef needs to re word children's menu to read fish fingers out of freezer!

Went to Dunure Inn for a late lunch ended up staying the night! Lovely terrace with a view of the sea to drink or eat if the weathers good. There is a restaurant with modern, tasteful décor. There are two great menus, the fish menu is amazing We both had fish starters and main which were delicious. The bar area had music playing and a welcoming atmosphere. The room we had was lovely, comfortable and spacious with a great view of the harbour, it had a modern shower room with fantastic shower. The owner, Hugh, and his staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be back and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We were in room 1, which was a suite with lovely views of the harbour.
