Family room was very good. The Lodge was a good old fashioned Highland Hotel with just the right ambience. My cousin and I stayed fo 2 nights with my teenage grandaughter and her friend and the girls enjoyed the freedom allowed by the surroundings. Both evening meals and breakfast had excellent choices and were very reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and friendly and looked after us well. Fabulous place to stay with teenagers. Landmark adventure park is within walking distance. Aviemore is seven miles away and the funicular railway in the Cairngorms a 45 minute drive.

Famiy room felt like a suite in size, very dated decor and bathroom but clean. New owners friendly and helpful, Archie the dog welcomed us too! Dinner was a good old fashioned "event", drinks in the sitting room while perusing the menu, then we were called to the dining room when dinner was ready! Good food had by all, including two game dishes (venison and duck).

This hotel has a relaxed tranquility that few hotels achieve. We stayed here as a family in June to explore the area. The room quality and service was first class. We had excellent meals in the hotel on both evenings, the Dalrachney Stack and Venison Casserole are both highly recommended. Also the house wine was of surprisingly high quality which was an added bonus. There was also a wide choice at breakfast and can recommend the full Scottish Breakfast or Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs. The lounge has been recently refurbished and is a lovely place for a pre-dinner drink whilst looking out across the large garden. The bar is well stocked and lovers of good Malt Whiskey will not be disappointed. The village is a short walk away and we would recommend the local gallery and the path along the river.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with garden view if possible

I stayed this hotel whilst visiting customers in the area. The welcome, rooms, food and facilities are excellent. The hotel has recently changed hands, the new owners are extremely welcoming and ensure you have a great stay, (Not to say the old ones were anything different!) The new owners are carrying out modification of the hotel, but regardless, the rooms and facilities are fine. We ate in the restaurant twice and enjoyed good quality, well cooked local dishes, including Pheasant, Venison and even Haggis for breakfast. There was a good selection of wines reasonably priced at dinner. The Lounge is well decorated and furnished, and easy to find yourself a corner to work or read etc, My room had satellite TV and was able to connect to the free internet, There is easy parking a garden, great views of the country side and the hotel is situated next to a river. The village is within a 2 minute walk where you can get a paper or have a look round. I based here to tour the highlands for business, and noticed there were also holiday makers also using this hotel as a base for a rest or to get out and about to the local facilities and attractions, well recommended

Room Tip: My room was great on the first floor

We visited with family for a two night stay. Very quiet hotel on the outskirts of the village overlooking the river in a tranquil setting. The new fence to the left of the driveway separating it from the new houses being built there is unfortunate but once at the hotel its presence is less noticeable. the hotel has recently changed hands and the new owners were still re carpeting and redecorating some areas but seem intent on keeping the sleepy hunting lodge feel of the hotel. It is a bit old fashioned but in a period way. We had a lovely large room with a view of the river. As well as an extra single bed the room also had a wardrobe you could have slept in and a writing desk at the window. Service was gentle and understated and the breakfast was excellent ( good black pudding ). The bar is lovely and very well stocked. If you want a quiet genteel resting place after the rigours of the highlands this hotel is for you. The owners very kindly and efficiently forwarded a couple of items left in error by our party - just the sort of care that will encourage visitors to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor over looking the river

The warmth of the log fire in the beautiful old style lounge was more than matched by the old style welcome by the new owners of the Dalrachney Lodge. It has an idylic rural setting with ample parking. The menu offered the best of Scottish produce cooked impeccably but at a reasonable price. Off to a good start with great potential.

Room Tip: No lift so ask for downstairs/first floor

Booked late via laterooms. Lovely Hotel with new owners who try very hard to make sure your stay is pleasant. Great lounge with log fire for pre-dinner drinks. Extensive menu at reasonable prices. Service from all staff very good. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a shower unless you are happy with a bath. Room in hotel was large and lovely...

In March 2015 a biomass boiler system was installed and another two new bathrooms have been completed. Investment in the Hotel is continuing with work starting on updating more bathrooms later in the year and a self-catering cottage will be available for rental in the Summer.
