Stayed 2 nights here with my son on a Wowcher deal. When I read reviews before we went I was really worried as they mostly said the hotel was dirty, unclean, short staffed and generally poor. However, I was pleasantly surprised, upon arrival we were greeted at reception by a very nice courteous gentleman, who arranged for our complimentary English tea and gave us our room card. Our room was clean tidy and bathroom was the same and nice and modern, it met my sons expectations and he suffers with OCD! Our beds were initially zipped together into a double but after speaking to the guy on reception they were quickly separated into two singles whilst we had our tea. On our first night there we arrived back at the hotel rather late (about midnight) as we had visited family in the area and lost track of time, when we tried to get into our room the card wouldn't work and I had to go to reception and call the night service. The same gentleman who had served us earlier promptly came down and re-magnetised the card in a very friendly and helpful manner (despite the fact he had probably just settled down for the night).

Breakfast was delicious and again nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff. Yes there were little things like a chip on the enamel of the bath & one hook on shower curtain missing but this really didn't spoil the charm of this hotel or our visit. I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived on Sunday 11th August, Things seem to be alright at first the receptionist was very good. But everything went pear shaped when we got to our room, the smell of sewage was overwhelming and made us both feel sick. I went back to the reception and told the girl on reception. We were given another room which stank of smoke and body odour. We opened the windows and then we decided to go for our cream tea which was included in the deal. The cream tea was a complete disaster, we were offered no tea or plates and cutlery and it looked stale. The conservatory was dirty and another customer was complaining at the same time.
We reported this to the general manager and we left Do not book here.

Lovely place to look at but if you are staying in the courtyard you will need ear plugs. We stayed in a ground floor room and we could hear EVERYTHING above us ..... and I do mean everything. The room was not very clean, lots of dust on the skirting boards, medication, cigarette papers and filters by the sofa and under the bed. The bathroom had a musty smell with black mould in the shower. The bathroom sink had no hot water and the water pressure in the shower could be likened to mild drizzle. Staff rather glum .... Nice fluffy towels though and comfy bed.

Stayed for a friends wedding gorgeous sums it up just perfect beautiful rooms gardens lovely service excellent we had a problem with hot water staff did everything they could to resolve matter unfortunately it was a boiler problem but they knocked 25% off the bill can't say fairer than that we thought. Room was clean. Huge bed nice period furniture which added to the experience of this tudor hotel. If i was being picky i have a hatred of those awful do it yourself toast machines surely any kitchen can make a rack of toast and saves guests standing in a queue waiting for toast.A very pleasant hotel felt very relaxed when we left which is what you want.

Lovely historic hotel. Large room was clean and attractive view of garden. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would certainly like to go again. My partner and I both rated it highly; the free trip to Warwick castle was a big plus and made it a very economical proposition.

Having rang on the Thursday morning 8/8/2013 I was very impressed by the excellent level of service I received from Katie on the Reception, who immediately booked us in for that evening on a Wowcher deal for myself, my husband, our Daughter and our niece. When we arrived at the Hotel is certainly gave us the Wow factor as we drove up to the Hotel, ' Wow, I think we struck lucky' I said. We were greeted well on our booking in at the desk, we had 2 rooms interlocking. The girls shared room 20 and we had room 19 in the Annexe. Lovely room overlooking the Main Hotel and a lovely modern bathroom, from there it went downhill....there were 2 black hairs in our bathroom, we went to have our complimentary cream teas, the staff did not have a clue what we were entitled to on this deal....awkward....there was a mix up in the kitchen so we waited for 30 minutes for sandwiches and crisp to arrive. 20 minutes later the scones etc arrived, 3 lemonades cost £8.80 !! Breakfast was good but cold, when we were booking out the receptionist said you have nothing to pay, it was a good job I was so honest as we still had the full bill to pay, and did remind her that we did not receive our morning paper as requested only to be told you have to collect it yourself from this desk ! Staff are absolutely clueless and need full training on Polite Manners and hotel service and the deals that they offer, due to all this from incompetent staff I would not return to this Hotel. Shame, as it is a beautiful Hotel, in a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor in the Annexe can hear noise from the rooms above.
