Stayed at this `new` hotel with family and friends for a local wedding. As a group of 21 guests aged between 4 and 88 we booked 11 months in advance to secure the appropriate amount of rooms and paid in advance. Upon arrival we had to endure a lengthy receptionist talk as they explained that they were doing us a favour by putting an extra bed in 2 rooms so a 5 and 8 year old could sleep in the same room as their parents (something that was suggested by the booking agent when the rooms were booked)and also how we would not have to pay the £5 a day per car charge for parking (because they had not cottoned on to that money making scam when we booked), that check-in took 15 minutes. In 3 of the rooms the air conditioning did not work. We had arranged a meal for all of our party in the hotel restaurant at the time of booking and after orders where taken, mains arrived 90 minutes after ordering and the reason given by the argumentative maitre-de for the delay?Two of our party had dared to order starters! Delaying the preparation of all meals. The bill for the meal was wrong,the bar bills for the evening where wildly out and so where the checkout bills, one by over £150. At checkout the manager was not available as we were not the only guests with serious issues with the bill. This took place on a relevantly quiet end of week. God help you if you book when they are busy.

We would like to thank you for passing on your comments regarding your stay, it is only through feedback that we can constantly evolve and improve our business.

Parking charges have been introduced to the property due to the location of the parking within the airport grounds. With regards to check in, the length of time it takes to check in a group of your size can be longer to process all the information, we apologise if this caused any inconvenience. At no time did anyone mention a problem with the air conditioning in the rooms during your stay, otherwise we would of course have resolved this issue for you.

With regards to your restaurant experience, you were seated at 20.23pm. From the time your order was taken, starters were delivered 15 minutes later and then following starters being finished the main course was delivered 20 minutes later. For a group of 17 people that also ordered starters this would be seen as a normal time.

With regards to the billing, We would like to apologise for the system error that caused three rooms that had dinner inclusive not being billed correctly within the restaurant, our Front of House Manager was present at the time of your check out and she corrected the issue of charges on your bill personally. Whilst she would have been more than happy to deal with any other issues during your check out, nothing else was brought to her attention.

Second time at this hotel, booked the valet parking package through the hotel.
Arrived back from holiday only to find the valet car parking service could not locate my car, didn't have any info of its whereabouts
Only when one of the car park attendants decided to go and look for the car it was found. She was gone about five minutes before contacting her colleague via walkie talkie telling him she had found the car quote " Unlocked with the key inside". so much for a secure parking.
I contacted the hotel to complain on our return home only to be told a cock and bull story from the general manager of the double tree and offering YOU'VE Guessed it free complimentary parking next time we fly from Newcastle!!!!! amazing.
Please note I do not wish to comment on the hotel.

Had a one night stay - very comfortable room, clean and tidy with robes, slippers etc.
All staff were very friendly but our evening meal was not great. Had black pudding starter - only one piece on the plate for £6.50! Pizza was just ok - base was too crispy. Would stay again but not have a meal.

I travel around the UK regularly with work. This hotel is modern and comfortable, I've stayed a few times and always found the staff to be really helpful and welcoming.

The rooms are always really clean with very comfortable beds which is really important after a busy day when you need to crash.

Convenient hotel .Great location on the airport but with excellent metro link to Newcastle City. Safe parking and free. Clean, modern, comfortable, well presented rooms. The staff there very friendly, helpful and polite. Once we done the check in, the receptionist gave us some cookies and surprisingly cookies still warm. Really tasty.The hotel not too much noise, despite being on the airport. There have variety choice of breakfast. Definitely wont make you feel disappointed . Would certainly go back and also recommend to others.

Great room good food walk to airport check in and car collection very slick.We will not use airport carparking when we can get a great deal takes the strain out of rushing to the airport and my wife still speaks to me.

I arrived on Monday evening to a very friendly welcome and the usual tasty warm cookie. My room was cool, quiet and comfortable. I ate at Fratello's and the food and service were excellent - Claudio served us and was both pleasant and attentive. Breakfast was really tasty and varied and again the service was excellent. Checkout was also smooth and cheerful. Thank you.
