“over all a pleasant experience”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

We were greeted pleasantly and the room was spacious, clean and modern. The breakfast was full of offerings, the best meal we had all weekend. We enjoyed our experience although we thought a little over priced but I guess you pay for the name.

We used this hotel for a an early morning flight. Check in was reasonable after a bit of confusion with our booking. We had a meal at the bar which was excellent and reasonable price for the four of us. The rooms were excellent and very big for an airport hotel. Next morning after checking out the best part- a two minute walk to the airport and the same back to get the car after the hols .A definite hotel to use again for us.

my wife and i are from edinburgh, in october we were flying to mallorca and decided to stay overnight at this hotel on saturday 6th october, we had booked in advance and got a king room for £110, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room and the hotel in general was, at about 8pm we ordered room service, we both ordered rib eye steaks medium rare for me and medium for the wife, unfortunately they both arrive very rare, that was ok for me but my wife could not eat hers, we should have complained at the time, but typical british i complained via the card in the room as we had an early flight and wanted to go to bed, i have not had a response to my complaint yet. anyhow, we had also booked for monday 5th november when we were returning from holiday, this time we had a king deluxe at the price of £85, very reasonable, while in spain our 21 year old son joined us for the last 3 weeks, i called the hotel from spain to ask if they had facilities for a camp bed so he could share our room as it was only for one night, i was told they dont do this, so i had to book another room for him at £90, which was a queen room, anyway later that night that we stayed we tried room service again, my son ordered the black pudding which was sent to his room and was fine, i ordered the ribeye again and my wife ordered the cumberland sausage, we also ordered dessert, when the maid delivered the food, it was on cold uncovered plates, thes were put on the coffee table, then the cutlery was dumped beside the tv, when we tried our food it was only lukewarm, we were very tired and hungry after travelling all day, so tried our best to eat it, most of it went in the bin, someone came to the door about 10 to 15 minutes later, it was the maid, with a steak knife, no sauces or condiments, napkins etc, my wife was fuming by this time, took the knife and closed the door, the two incidents really out a damper on our stay here, it is a real shame as the hotel and staff have the potential to be something special, i have already sent a complaint via doubletrees website but have still to hear, i very rarely complain, but our room service cost £67 and £52, which is quite a lot on top of the cost for the rooms, but to be honest, apart from what happened, this is a very clean comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: i think all the rooms are more or less the same, the only difference between king and king deluxe, i...

I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend as we went to newcastle to watch a football game. the hotel was lovely. The receptionist had all the time in the day for us and she made sure we understood everything. the american cookie was such a nice treat and was a welcoming touch and tasted great!. Our room was very spacious and modern, the bathroom was gleaming. We could not fault the room at all. We got the room on a very good rate and wasnt expecting the standard we recieved. We were very impressed we are going there again soon.

Location is perfect if you need the airport or you can use the train which is right next door to the hotel.

Stayed one night and was immaculate. Rooms are not large but very comfortable bed . Bathroom was small but good shower and all was very modern. Italian restaurant at night was excellent. Food and service was good and well priced. Breakfast was in the same restaurant and was ok.

Lady on reception was very friendly and service was excellent. No noise from planes despite being so close to airport.
