The Maplestone B&B was a lovely building. Gill and Donald are fantastic hosts and run the B&B brilliantly. The room was perfect, warm, clean and comfy. I would definitely be going back there in the future.

What a great welcome by Donald, you just have to come back to it. No question too much or forced, they really care about their guests. Wonderful breakfast, thanks Gill!
Good place to explore, and to drive to bath.

My only tip when going to bath, the Park and ride is a good alternative to finding a spot yourself, however we found it very cold to wait for a bus at rush hour ( Saturday, 11am, with Christmas market) we should have known;)

We booked this B&B at short notice after looking at the Internet following flights from another trip being cancelled.

We stayed for 3 nights in the cottage part of Maplestone.
The accommodation was spacious, clean and well decorated.
The location is fantastic, close to some good resturants and surrounding villages, towns and sites.
The breakfast was excellent every day.
The owners / hosts could not have been more helpful and pleasant.

Would highly recommend this B&B and would have no hesitation staying at Maplestone again when in the area.

Unusually, my husband did this booking, having used TA reviews in the first place. Normally it's all left to me! I was really pleased with his choice. We booked well in advance, for a 5 night stay, as we were attending the Momentum conference at the Royal Bath & West showground. This property was perfectly situated, to make our coming and going easy - especially as we had time constraints.

The room was to the rear of the property, in an extended section, accessed up steep, stone steps with a bend - this wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. However, the room was quiet, with an ensuite, generous proportions and afforded an interesting view of the old buildings in the immediate vicinity. Lovely power shower, of good size. Good quality sleep, in a very quiet environment.

The breakfast was very good; and there was a plenty of choice available.

Would certainly consider returning.

We spent three nights staying with Gill and Don whilst we explored the surrounding area. Our accommodation was delightful - we stayed in a one bedroom cottage - and thoroughly enjoyed watching the hens laying eggs for our breakfast! The standard of cleanliness, cooking and general ambience was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. Gill and Don are very good hosts and we would love to return for another visit.

On a practical note, Shepton Mallet is ideally situated as a centre for exploring any part of Somerset / Dorset / Wiltshire

We stayed here for three nights in June. This was possibly the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Don and Gill are absolutely fantastic hosts, the room was spacious, clean, warm and very tastefully decorated and furnished and the breakfast was wonderful. I can't fault this place - great location within easy reach of Glastonbury, Bath, Wells and other interesting places. The building itself is beautiful (Grade 2 listed). We loved the whole experience! We plan to return...

Very unusual b & b, built into a old quarry, (hence the address quarr). Made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was one of the best we have had, freshly prepared to your requirements. Nice to have fresh milk for the tea in our room.
