We stopped here on our way back after a long day at Longleat Safari Park with our children. We arrived at 6.30 pm and got some drinks and were then shown to a table. The restaurant was not that busy as it was a Tuesday evening.
We ordered our food at 6.55 and the young waitress did state that there may be a delay for the food. She plucked a figure out the air of 20 minutes and said she'd keep us informed. At 7.30, we enquired where our order was as the children were getting restless and the waitress hadn't once returned to advise us. We were told it would be 5 - 10 minutes and it finally arrived at 7.45, a 50 minute wait. We complained to the waitress who said she was really busy and apologised and told us to speak with the manager.
To be fair, the food was of a good quality, especially the burger and the steak and the portions were of a good size.
We spoke with the manager when we left and advised that, if we had been told originally that there was a 50 minute wait for food, we wouldn't have bothered because of the children. He accepted this and didn't charge us for the children's meals which was a nice gesture.
The place just seemed very understaffed for the amount of clients, maybe they had just been caught out by walk in customers for a normally quiet midweek, I don't know.
