Description: At Franco’s Osteria, we keep true to the soul of Italian Osterias, whilst providing a contemporary drinking and dining experience. We provide a large selection of regional speciality wines from around Italy in a small, rustic and authentic setting. Alongside the wines, our seasonally changing set menu is designed to be shared amongst the table in a traditional, rustic, family style. We take influences from all over Italy, using local, seasonal ingredients, whilst also importing fine Italian speciality products .

“Fabulous and authentic Italian Food, nice atmosphere”

A wet and cold Sunday night, brightened up with a real gem of a find on the seafront at Hove. Just along from the King Alfred Lanes, Franco's is most definitely worth a visit.
Bruschetta to start was yummy, basil shrubs adorn the tables and i guess you could have harvested them for the bruschetta as well. Franco was charming and very friendly. My selection of Italian breads with Balsamic vinaigrette dressing and tapenade was a lovely starter followed by an exquisite ravioli with blue cheese and walnuts plus a creamy rosemary sauce was Heavenly. The Montipulciano was superb and less than £14.

The pizza menu and what was being served looked great too.

So go visit good Tripadvisor folk. Homely good food restaurants like Franco's deserve our custom.

“Excellent find !”

Fed up with Hove run of the mill pizzerias and found this fabulous gem ! Tastes like authentic pizzas, excellent value and service. Watching the staff make pizzas and they looked happy in their work was a pleasure. Definitely recommend !

“Gets better and better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

Literally just came from my second visit to Franco's and, I must say, it was superb.

My first experience was a quiet Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago and, despite it being considerably busier than before, Franco made us feel like weekly regulars.

The walnut and blue cheese ravioli was simple and devine. A good restaurant should see a reflection of the owner in the food they serve. Franco's warm, sincere personality comes across in the food which is homely, big on flavour and very moorish.

Above all else, this is a place you want to come back to again and again with family and friends.

“A different type of Italian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

We live just down the road on Kingsway and to be honest, when my wife and I saw another Italian opening up we were completely non-pulsed, Hove is already completely saturated in Italians. However, when we eventually made it down the road for a meal we were very pleasantly surprised; the decor is warm, almost quaint, a feeling which is reinforced by Franco himself and his staff. But the food is the cream on the top, relatively simple food done exceptionally well, we devoured our vegetarian shared starter and both our pizzas were fresh and vibrant. We had bought a load of booze but it now has a license, the persecco was outstanding. We would both highly recommend for a visit.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Franco the owner makes you so welcome, he's very proud of the food he services. We when there on a tuesday night and had Lasagna with a glass of wine. It was so good, we when back the next night for pizza. My wife had the rocket salad and I had the mixed salad, both where so good. Then we shared a Chorizo Pizza. Do yourself a favour and check this place out.
