Owners Lily and Tim, lately of Florence, Italy, have brought a taste of Florence to Hove, sister city of Brighton. Watching Tim make handmade Venetian glass lampwork beads and Lily construct her Florentine-inspired bracelets and necklaces is as fun as picking out your own beads to make your own designs. There is an eclectic selection of materials to work with --Tim's gorgeous beads and beads from all over the world, of course, but also all manner of ribbon, clasps, and leather cord-- and the beautifully displayed finished pieces serve as inspiration. The atmosphere created by Klimt and Modigliani, Eddie Vetter and Sarah McLachlin, and a whiff of incense takes one to a very relaxed and creative place within. Lily is very helpful yet leaves you to listen to your own muse. If only I could take a class... a bit difficult from California! A visit when in Brighton-Hove is a must for any bead enthusiast and it's a great place to pick out unique gifts for friends at home.
