People seem to be expecting some form of 5* palace when paying fairly small money going on other reviews here. I've stayed here a number of times and while its no boutique hotel, it is welcoming, with large clean properly fitted rooms and everything you'd expect in a modern hotel (Freeview TV, wifi, etc). Have had to alter my stay while there (cancel a night due to a moved ferry time), and ended up checking out two hours late another time and was dealt with professionally and without hassle every time.

In addition, the prices, particularly off-season, are incredibly cheap for Brighton. When you take in to account the cost of car parking at the budget chains closer to the city centre it becomes even cheaper. A Saver ticket on the buses is the cost of a quarter of a days parking.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms can be very windy if you open the window, although the other side does overlook the car park.

Stayed here on business for 3 nights. Was an extremely pleasant stay in what really felt like a friendly family run hotel. The room was comfortable and clean and of a good size with an amazing sea view.
Ate in the restaurant for two evenings and the food was excellent.
Would definitely stay again for my next stay in Brighton.

The hotel is good value for money, but you have to look past the decor which needs updating or even just a little touch of paint.

The good bits:

The breakfast was lovely and the staff are very helpful - a good place for a family trip!

Excellent access to wifi from each room!

Room Tip: ask for one that overlooks the sea.....

Having sampled not-so-good B&B in Brighton area earlier in the year this slightly dated but perfectly acceptable Best Western was ideal for a long weekend in Hove (the quieter end of Brighton) - for about the same price. Rather dated on the outside. Large bedroom, good but dated bathroom, all very clean and well kept. Huge bed, comfortable. Quiet (even with a function taking place two floors above on the Saturday night). Very good breakfast choice, friendly staff, decent bar, good looking restaurant (altho' we didn't sample it). Excellent position on the sea front. Free car parking but limited availability. Dog friendly. We'll stay here again....

Room Tip: Function suite is on the fifth floor (roof) so lower floors are likely to be quieter....

I stayed at this hotel mid-week for 2 nights. The hotel was very clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. Ample breakfasts. No. 700 bus stops outside. Or walk up to Church Road for a wider selection of buses. Minor negatives (no hook on door in bathroom, shower head fixed in one direction).

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper and want a lie-in then avoid the first floor over the dining area - you can hear the early risers scraping their chairs! Main road at front of hotel has traffic noise until about 11pm.
