“Gasto-pub disaster”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

The manor used to be a real steady bet - unfortunately no longer. The food is expensive, unimaginative and mediocre at best, and the drinks are very expensive and from a largely restricted brewery. Won't be eating here again for a while which is a real shame as it used to be a favourite.

“Disappointing!”
Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

Went to the manor in the week with family and friends, service was so slow considering the restaurant wasn't busy (4 tables) the wait for drinks and food was unacceptable! Finished my drink and waited and waited for someone to offer us another drink yet this didn't happen until we shouted someone over! Definitely won't be returning!

“Large Sunday Roast in the gardens”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We went to the Hangleton manor for lunch, taking our dog with us as he can be with us in the garden. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the sunshine. Our food was lovely and came in good time. The portions were huge and price was good for what we got (other places in Hove are far too overpriced). Exactly what we wanted and all within walking distance from home.

“Bad service and meal not great”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Went here on Sunday and had to hunt around for somebody to serve us. We were warned of a 30 minute wait for food - but it was nearer 1 hour. I opted for the Sunday roast and noted that the portions have got smaller, with less than a tablespoon of gravy, so very dry! Staff were stressed out so not very cheerful. I will monitor the reviews on here for improvement, before I venture back. It was also overpriced.

“lovely place, non-existant disabled access”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We visited with family for Sunday lunch. The surroundings are lovely, food ok (is a Hall & Woodhouse chain), but access for those physically less able is non-existant,

You can perhaps forgive the undulating floors & steps everywhere due to the age of the building. What is completely unacceptable however is:

- high thresholds to doors
- gravel outside making pushing a wheelchair exceptionally difficult
- LOCKED ramp to the disabled toilet facilities, with a high step down being the only acess (the
few staff around were nowhere to be seen as the placed is severely understaffed)

Small changes could easily have been made to accomodate those less able. For a chain pub with finances behind it, to not make these adaptations is not good enough.
