We had the tasting menu with the accompanying drinks and it was a wonderful experience. Each dish was carefully prepared, visually stunning and offering different taste sensations. A mildly curried parsnip soup with drunken raisins with a light dry sherry was the exquisite start to the meal. The glasses of wine were full servings.
Bread served with 3 different butters. All of the 7 courses and drinks were a delight and when I couldn't eat one of the ingredients it was no trouble to find me a substitute. The service matched our pace beautifully and we never felt rushed or neglected. The set price menus offer very good value and no worries about the bill at the end.
But if you want a big pile of steak and chips or burger and chips then you're in the wrong place. This is intricate food for people who savour food.
