Very welcoming.... Lovely quiet room . Bathroom was roadside obviously some thought gone into this.Bed firm and comfortable.Shower and bath worked very well. Service very good. Breakfast excellent, all local produce, mushrooms especially yummy. It was very cold outside but plenty of heat in our room.. We enjoyed our stay.....

Room Tip: Most rooms are at the side or rear of the pub. They are all modern. We didnt see the rooms in the pub...

We had a lovely 1st floor room named Kestrel. The room is very spacious, lovely decor with crisp white bed linen. I would recommend this lovely room. The roll top bath was amazing and we used it extensively! The room and bathroom were super clean.
The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and the homemade breads were superb.
We had a really relaxing couple of days away.

As always when booking any hotel we made the request for a room that would be somewhere quiet as we are both really light sleepers. On most occasions this email is ignored and we usually get the room over the kitchen, next to the extractor fan, or the hot water pump which comes on at intervals throughout the night! Thankfully the Crown did not lose the email and we had a lovely room with no noise - absolute bliss - thank you. Dinner was excellent as was the breakfast. The aim of every member of staff we met was to ensure that we enjoyed our stay and they succeeded. Was there anything we didn't like - the weather - and no amount of email requests could have changed that!

This was our second stay in the Crown having stayed a number of years ago and in almost every aspect it is an excellent place to stay - just beware which room you stay in. The location is great, I would say the rooms are of superior quality (some firmer pillows are needed), the restaurat is wonderful and the staff very attentative and helpful. However our stay was ruined by a noisy fan - possible the extractor fan from the kitchen - which made sleep impossible on the second of our two night stay. Our room was in the main building and all was fine on the first night. The floors must be super thin as on the second night we initially could not sleep as a group of four people were talking in the bar area below which although they were not talking loudly, sounded like they were in the room with us! I had to go downstairs at midnight and ask them politely to quiten down which they very kindly did so and we thought all would be well. Then, as we tried to get to sleep, the incessent hum from a fan coming from below, together with what sounded like water tanks filling up in the loft made sleep imposible. We tried for some time but by 2am it was clear we would not be getting any sleep, Phone calls to reception and trips downstairs turning off a noisey fridge and radiator did not help and it appeared to be an extractor fan in the kitchen - which had not been a problem on the first night - may have been to blame which the staff member said she could not turn off. At 2.30am we changed rooms across the courtyard in sub zero temps to the haven of a silent bedroom where a few hours sleep were possible. The staff were apologetic in the morning although a promised visit from the manager at breakfast never happened. I should probably have asked for a reduction in the bill but we stay in hotels so infrequently as this was supposed to be a treat so perhaps one for experience. The girl who took our payment said the fan had been causing problems last week but had been fixed on the Friday morning which might expain why it was not a problem on our first night - and may also mean it will be a problem for future occupants of the room. We returned more exhausted than when went there - the opposite of what we hoped for! We would stay at the Crown again - but would just make sure to ask for a room in the outbuldings, not in the main building itself to hopefully ensure a peaceful night is obtained.

I always like to give constructive feedback to support establishments improve but it is an impossible job at The Crown Inn.
We just wanted to get out of London and celebrate our anniversary and it was perfect. The staff were charming, helpful and generally lovely. Our room(The Oystercatcher) was lovely and cosy, great powerful shower and very quiet.
The food was superb, just enough choice to make it interesting and knock out flavours after knock out flavours. The plum tart tartin was to die for!! I'll be dreaming about it for weeks! breakfast was hugh, such a choice, really like no other I have seen in the UK.
The hotel is quite central and a good walk to Dunwich and the beach. It was freezing so the return to the beautiful open fires were very welcome! As was the drop of port. The hotel was run uber professionally but still maintained a calm and relaxed ambience.
Very sad to leave, thank you all at the Westleton for making our anniversary very special.

Room Tip: Oystercatcher, whilst on the main road was very quiet

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Crown, beautiful in every way, lovely room (we stayed in Redshank) cosy, warm. Excellent facilities everything really well thought out, with the complaints at all. The staff were amazing especially Maitre De/Waiter/owner? Andreas a master at his job, making it look so easy to serve, chat and generally make sure all the guests are happy. The evening meal was outstanding as was the breakfast, spoilt for choice.

Location perfect for RSPB site, lovely to come back to, and have a warm up, after two freezing cold days walking.

We loved the fires, never been anywhere else where there is a choice of three fires, lots of logs adding to the atmosphere.

Looking forward to our return.

Room Tip: Our room, was away from the main bar, by the car park, nice and quiete, decent size.
