Owner description: Minsmere is a great place to discover nature. The RSPB shop, cafe and visitor centre provide a perfect introduction before you explore the beautiful countryside walks. Enjoy stunning woodland, wetland and coastal scenery and close views of a wide range of wildlife, including many rare species. Families can begin their journey of discovery in the Wild Zone, or build a den in the Wildwood Adventure. The nearby Discovery Centre is perfect for school visits, birthday parties and exhibitions. Self-guided activities include a free explorer backpack to borrow, and there's a regular programme of events in school holidays. Seasonal wildlife highlights include: spring birdsong, nightingales and booming bitterns and nesting avocets; summer butterflies, flowers and nesting terns; autumn migrants, red deer rut and colour; winter ducks, evening roosts of birds and Christmas shopping. Volunteer guides are often available to help you identify Minsmere's varied wildlife.

A superb RSPB site, though Titchwell is still my favourite! Nice to walk round even without being a birder. Beautiful location. Never fails to impress. Never walked into a bird hide before to see paddling, grazing horses!

We took our son there during half term and had a really great day out. Saw loads of birds and other wildlife, he had great fun playing at the Discovery centre and watching the birds from the hides. We had a delicious afternoon tea in the café and bought some really nice Christmas presents in the shop. The staff were all very helpful and informative. We will definitely be going back again soon. Would definitely recommend to others.

Great reserve - spent all day here - range of habitats - friendly birders helping novices. Highlights included bearded tits, marsh harriers, great white egrets, kingfisher, adder, small copper.

Most of the marshlands are only viewable from the very nice blinds, which can be standing room only. Only one blind in the wooded area and it was a canopy blind (tree top). Would love to see more wooded area blinds for other wildlife such as the Red Deer and woodland birds. Feeder stations at such blinds would enhance chances of observing more difficult wildlife.

This was our second visit, the last being in 2011 and though the weather was not as good this time, we still enjoyed ourselves. Our Bird knowledge is very limited but we found other more experienced visitors extremely helpful in naming the various birds spotted. This is a wonderful facility.
