“Weekend away with friends!”
Reviewed February 4, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

We stayed at Chisel Barn this weekend and had a wonderful time. The barn is spilt into two separate units sleeping 6 in each. We only had one of the sections but in our opinion it had the best views (views of the fields and cows!)

The accommodation is immaculate. Everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay is in the barn. From Wifi to log burner and DVDs.

The barn in on one level so easily accessible.

A lovely welcome hamper greeted us along with eager and keen cows in the nearby barn.

The barn in down a country lane so you do need a car to get around. We hired a local taxi company to take us to a recommended local pub for our evening meal on Saturday night.

There are lots of walks all around the barn.

The owner popped in to check everything was ok on the first night and nothing was too much trouble.

The barn does take dogs too.

We stayed as 6 firends and the beds can all be made into singles which was great!

As we stayed in Janaury the weather wasn't the best however it is such a lovely place to just chill out and relax in.

We would definatley be back.

“Spectacular”

Amazing breathtaking views, gorgeous location, quaint accommodation. If you want peace and quiet this is for you. In the middle of now where. The local pubs that served meals were disappointing so we would go out for lunch and have a snack in the evening or bbq. The accommodation lacked nothing. Our neighbours were sheep and horses which the children found delightful. Various local walks and cycle routes. The little extras such as soft towels and grocerys on arrival such as eggs, butter, filter coffee and local baked bread. I would definitely visit again.

“A piece of Dorset Heaven”
Reviewed February 18, 2015 for a stay in September 2013

Our stay at Chisel Barn was ibe of our most memorable family holidays. The location was quiet and peaceful yet convenient for local sites. The owners were very hospitable and accommodating. The surrounding area and views were beautiful with friendly local shops and pubs within walking distance. The accommodation was first class and had every comfort you could wish for.

“A wonderful location to see in the new year”
Reviewed January 7, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We spent 3 wonderful days at Chisel Barn, seeing in the new year. The barn is as lovely as it looks in the pictures, decorated to a high standard, and well equipped. Locally there are lots of short walks you can do into neighbouring villages, meaning that we didn't leave the local area at all. The kitchen is really well equipped, and we were able to easily cook for our large group each day. The owners were very friendly, and none of our questions were too much bother.

One tip...if you like to sleep in late like us you can 'boost' the hot water on the panel at the back of the airing cupboard, as the hot water switches off at around 11am.

“WONDERFUL ESCAPE,STUNNING COUNTRYSIDE”
Reviewed March 10, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Six of us stayed here and had a fantastic time. The accomodation was superb, built and decorated to a very high standard.
Extremely well equipped kitchen , could want for no more.
The countryside was spectacular for walking or just relaxing and with pubs and restaurants in the near vicinity,no need to go hungry.
The only minor complaints are ,the difficulty to find in the dark,(no signs anywhere)and the lack of mirrors, just one in the bathroom and the main bedroom, especially for the female members of the group. These are such a minor complaints though because everything here is wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at Chisel Barn recently. Not only is it located in the most beautiful part of Dorset, but the barn itself is beautifully decorated, and was extremely comfortable for the six of us. It has everything you need for a self-catered weekend/holiday and I would definitely go back again!

“A luxurious retreat in a splended corner of Hardy country”
Reviewed August 3, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I spent a fantastic few days here in June 2013. The weather was magnificent, which certainly helped matters. Far from major towns and cities, this property is in a gorgeous part of Dorset I had not had the pleasure to visit before. The gently rolling countryside features many gems in walking distance - a river to swim in, big fields to play ball games in or just have a picnic, and an impressive fort.

The accommodation itself is outstanding. The beds are large and comfortable, and the kitchen exceptionally spacious and well equipped. It includes a large TV and wi-fi access. We cooked several meals for large groups here, and enjoyed eating them both inside and outside.

I would highly recommend this location to groups of friends, as well as families with children. It is a very, very nice property in an idyllic corner of England.
