“Underwhelming and poorly maintained”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

The good: a fascinating insight into Dutch water management, some worn out but entertaining and educating water games for kids (my son really enjoyed them)...

The bad: worn out, tired, ridiculously overpriced for what it is on offer, many exhibits not working and/or poorly conceived, dire lack of maintenance ....

This place was probably well worth visiting in the 90's when it first opened (and the prices were no doubt cheaper). Since then it looks like nothing has been updated or maintained. The whole place feels like it is dying a slow death.

“Neeltje Jans doenst know how to choose”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

It pretends to be a water park.
We went there for the Delta Works exhibition and the Oosterscheldekering.

The Oosterscheldekering is worth the visit. The park isn't value for money...paying 100 euro's for an exhibition that has not been maintained, for a waterpark that offers only a sea-lion show a seals show and some water-playground for the kids up to 12 and one waterslide that is supposed to be a rollercoaster....

“Waste of time and not least money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

I wish we had not gone to Neeltje Jans, and I really don't think it is worth the effort. Fine sea lion show but it only lasted 10 minutes. The boat trip was waste of time, and personally I was in a que for an hour waiting to try the orcan simulator which was really nothing. Go to Efteling instead - og Breda or Amsterdam!

“VERY expensive and only shows in English”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

My kids had a great day with a lot of fun, but as a parents (who pay the tickets) I found the park way too expensive. We paid over 80 euros for a family of 3 (including boat and parking) and our youngest child was free.

The park has a waterrollercoast, that was GREAT fun, and also the little train and playgrounds was fun for the kids.

Don't buy tickets to the ferry. There is no ordinary about the boattrip, and you won't discover anything but the an expensive cafetery.

There was some animals shows. We don't know if they were funny, because they were all in English.

The café was expensive (as the rest of the park) and very slow.

“What a complete waste of my life”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

I've never written a review before. But on this occasion I decided to make an exception. We paid the princely sum of 20 something euros each to visit the Delta Works Neeltje Jans park as a fun day out with our 15 month old and the Grandparents who were visiting from the UK. The park is just diabolically awful. A complete waste of time and money. The whole place has the feel of an outdated theme park that closed down twenty years ago where no one has done any maintenance ever since. My husband aptly described it as some 'wasteland with a few decrepit bits and pieces scattered around to fill it up'. I just don't know where to begin to describe just how crap this place is. All I can say is, don't waste your money. Do the following instead: download a documentary on how the delta works were built (there was a good one on telly not that long ago and it was fascinating). Then make some sandwiches, drive to the Delta Works and park the opposite side to where the park is (by the sea). You can park for free there and walk along the top of the flood defences. It's lovely walking next to the sea. and then you can access the flood defences by climbing up to the bridge. You actually see more of the flood defences by walking along the free path at the top than you do from the museum. That's what we did a year ago and it was infinitely more enjoyable than being fleeced 90 euros plus another 7 for parking, only to find that there is almost nothing there other than a small dirty pool with a couple of forlorn looking seals in it.
