We ate here 2 years ago and we loved it so when visiting Zeeland again my children insisted to go back and we were not disappointed. We took a mix of the lobster menu and a la carte and both presentation of the dishes and the taste were meeting our high expectations! We definitely go back.

Just great food with a friendly service. In terms of quality the best restaurant in the Noord Beveland area. Especially when you can sit outside! Best are the spareribs, lobster and sole!

Thank beenker

The restaurant was booked to celebrate a birthday and based on the very positive reviews of the food served, we decided to give it a chance. Prior to the dinner, I had a look at the website, and seriously considered if we still wanted to go. The pictures of the inside, as well as the menu with dishes such as 'hasta la pasta', 'say cheese', did not give me the best impression. We could not find a restaurant on a short notice and went there. Needless to say, we felt heavily overdressed when we showed up in dresses and suits with ties while the majority of the guests were dressed down. The restaurant is in the main street of the village of Kortgene and we were welcomed by other guests standing outside smoking under a big Grolsch Beer sign. There are different type of tables, including high bar stools. We focused on the description of each of the dishes, rather than some of the hilarious names, and I must admit - we were not disappointed at all. The starter with lobster was top, the chefs regularly come out to get a lobster from the basin in the restaurant and the portion is both huge and fresh. The main courses we had were large, well prepared and one of the better tastes I had in a while. The wine list is very limited, but good and not overly expensive. If you still have space, you can try one of their deserts. Their amuses are also worth mentioning. All in all, a very mixed experience. If you go purely for the food, then try this place for great food at reasonable place, if you want the surroundings to match the quality of the food, then you might be disappointed. I wish the owners good luck and a different location, change the names of your dishes and you will be very busy.

We have visited this restaurant a number of times over the last 6 years and have always been pleased, but our latest visit is the first since the refurbishment by the new owners, Ineke and Leon, last November. The interior is now much more contemporary but still retains the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere which we have always enjoyed.
We had the foresight to pop our heads round the door on Saturday lunchtime and book a table for the evening, even though it was just an ordinary Saturday in March. When we arrived the place was full with locals - always a good sign!
We ordered and were then given a small pot of shrimps in apple foam each whilst we waited for the starter and drank our beers. We both ordered the rather decadent (but gorgeous!) smoked salmon rolls stuffed with lobster, prawn and crab with lots of salad and a delicious dressing. We were then brought a little glass of raspberry and lychee juice to cleanse the palette before embarking on tournedos with pepper sauce and a traditional Dutch beef stew, both beautifully presented and served with various local vegetables. A lovely bottle of house red (Spanish Tempranilla), 2 equally superb desserts and 2 liqueur coffees followed. EUR 120 for an absolutely superb meal for 2. Service relaxed and friendly. Definitely recommended.
