A superb holiday with our motley crew running with wild abandon ... Like we did in our day without electronic widgits left right and centre. Meals wolfed to recharge ,and off again galloping ....
The owners run a brilliant operation which is spotless...
Hats off to you all ....thank goodness we only live in Motueka and can get there often!

This was our 7th year camping at Quinney's Bush. I could re-iterate the list of things to do, but for me, what is important is the children's safety & enjoyment. Our 9 1/2 year old son absolutely loves going and makes the most out of every day there. Each year sees him doing more on the skate park (with guidance from older children who are camping), as well as the confidence course. We love that he is able to have some freedom in the camp, knowing that he is perfectly safe riding around on his bike, while we parents can have 'time-out' to read a book if we choose. There really is no-where else for a family get-away.

I like to start a review by reading what the 'poor' and 'average' reviews are.

Reading those for Quinney's Bush I can see that the people who wrote them obviously feel their individual rights are far more important than the collective rights of all the guests of the camp at any point in time.

We LOVE that Quinney's has rules and everyone has a good time as a result - all knowing what is expected. The signs are FUNNY and I can see where they're coming from (it's always a few who will ruin it for the many and a fun poke at bad behaviour is a great way to address it.) To those people writing those reviews, it is good to read you won't be back because I'm sure you're the type of people who'd spoil it for us and everyone else!!

Seriously, this is the type of camp we have being looking for for a long time.

With kids running around doing everything imaginable (riding bikes freely and with plenty of open space, water slides, confidence course/playground, swimming hole, tractor pulled trailer rides, go karts, farm animals to feed, flying fox etc, they absolutely crashed by nightfall and slept like logs till 8am the next morning (unlike their normal 6am!) so we got lots of good sleep ins! We have never relaxed more, knowing our kids were safe, having heaps of fun, making new friends everyday and not pestering us every 5 minutes to entertain them. We sat out late with other parents and talked quietly around the brazier and made some wonderful friends ourselves. Not once having to be warned to keep quiet - either by other campers or the management.

The camp unashamedly has Christian roots and doesn't try to cover that up. But nor do they try at any time to push it. As a non-Christian I had no problem with the small numbers of Christian 'things'. As for the staff - they couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful (especially in the middle of the night when our 3 way fridge decided to start leaking ammonia gas refrigerant - thanks again to the owner for helping with that!). At all times we felt welcomed, respected, well treated and most of all that our kids were their top priority to be well supervised (water slide, flying fox, tractor ride etc) and looked after.

So we were VERY HAPPY CAMPERS .... but then, we follow the rules ;-)

Oh small PS - do people really understand what 5 km/h is? It's walking pace, so if a kid on a bike jumps out from behind a bush into your path, the worst that's going to happen to them is a bump as they fall off. Many cars I observed going way faster in this camp (and most others I go to). Come on people - do you want to be the person that has to race off to find the parents of the kid you've just run over ?

Thanks Quinney's Bush - we'll be back next year for sure ;-)

Thank you for your review and I couldn't have said this more clearly myself.

To other campers who have written bad reviews: If you think it is your individual right to drink yourself into a stupor, play your music loudly, carry on a loud conversation with raucous drunken laughter well after 10:30 pm, stumble around the camp abusing others while trying to find the toilet, threaten children by using your vehicle as a weapon driving through the camp at fast speeds or any number of other antisocial antics is more important than the collective rights of other campers to have a relaxing and safe holiday and get a good night's sleep, then this is not the campground for you. Please don't come here as you would not be welcome!

We really appreciate good people coming to stay here at Quinneys Bush because it is you who are helping to make this camp into a fantastic place. Thank you for camping here with us.

What an amazing place with a great atmosphere. Fantastic welcome from the lady at
reception - so keen that we should enjoy our stay. Everything has been incorporated into one place to provide a fantastic experience for families - children have been catered for in every aspect of the parks development and we saw very happy and content children of all ages and both genders challenging themselves constantly on all of the available equipment and experiences. We will definitely be recommending this wonderful camp to others, especially those with young families. The developing ablutions block is top notch too. Well done to the owners and management.

Hard to believe but they have found even more ways to amuse kids. Eel feeding & orienteering new this season, and pontoon in the waterhole. If you have children it is the only place to be. Very safe bike riding due to strict speed rules. Camp sites you can stretch out on and enjoy shade and sun. The adventure playground/confidence course, under tree playground and small playground are all great. Skate park/BMX track, fitness trail - I have failed to find anywhere with the facilities. water slide and trailer rides a daily must. You meet fellow families that are all about their kids, shared cricket and board games, and nightly roasted marshmallows on the brazier. The yellow vests wandering around give you confidence to let children play freely and enjoy the facilities and new friends. You know a QB staffer is always nearby if they need assistance.
