Only 30minute bus journey from Amsterdam, this lovely village and beautiful street made us question why we would want to go into Amsterdam at all.
After finishing a conference in Holland, my wife flew in to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. We got a taxi from the airport - don't do this - over priced and you will be looking at 110-130euros! Only 75Euros when we booked with Posthoorn after our weekend stay.
We stayed in the Persijnen room which is lovely and romantic. The bathroom is open plan, so if you are a new couple, worth bearing this in mind!
We booked in to dinner for the Friday night which was lovely. Some of the food we would not have ordinarily ordered but it was presented as you would expect and was a delight. When returning to our room, all the candles had been lit - small thing but meant a lot. We had also given the time we wanted breakfast - another lovely touch not to be pressured into going down when they want you there.
After a lovely breakfast we used their bikes on Saturday (FOC) to see a bit more of the area before we got the quick ish bus to Amsterdam.
We would stay here again and it has made me question why I would stay in the heart of a city again if there are such lovely places to stay like this.
