“Perfectly fine, nothing extraordinary”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

We enjoyed our stay here. The room itself was fine, nothing extraordinary, but quite suitable. The location near the national park Hoge Veluwe was perfect, and we had a lovely couple of days exploring everything the park had to offer. Breakfast was very nice. Dinner was overpriced for the quality. recommend eating dinner elsewhere.

After checking in we were directed to the annex "Witte Huis" room 17, less than a minute's walk from the main hotel.

This is probably one of the furthest away rooms from the entrance, normally not too much of an issue but as we were traveling for 12 days we did have more luggage than normal and the stairs have a tight corner at the bottom to negotiate which made it slightly awkward with the luggage.

That aside, the room was spacious with a large bathroom / toilet and plenty of cupboard space. The only negative point was no tea / coffee making facilities in the room.

Breakfast in the hotel was average, however we did have one evening meal which was very good. There were also blankets draped on the chairs outside the cafe, which were welcome when we spent the first night with local friends chatting over a few drinks almost into the wee small hours.

Staff were very pleasant and we certainly enjoyed our stay. Not sure if the Witte Huis would have been acceptable if it had been raining whilst going to and from the main hotel for meals.

We booked hotel for 1 night.
Altho we booked Hotel Kruller we were given room 4 in the sister hotel, 't Witte Huis, just a few minutes walk away.
Rooms 4 and 5 are located close to the entrance door. therfor the room 4 is very loud. Also the bathroom is small and can't be compaired with size, standard of room we were given after in Hotel Kruller.
From informationfolder of the hotel 't witte hoes was renovated in 1978/1979.
We mentioned to the manager emediatly that we where not satisfied and we had a booking for the Hotel Kruller. After some discusion we were offered a room in the main hotel.
Flabergasted about the difference in size and impresion the new room made we strongly recomend to demand and ask for confirmation "on booking" for a room in the main house Kruller.
Just as a sidenote we paid 99,- Euro for the double room Booked with Booking.com
Standard prices in the hotel are:
Single: basic 59,- standard 79,- and deluxe rooms 99,-
Double: basic 79,-, standard 99,- and deluxe rooms 119,-

My husband and I phoned the hotel and booked a room for 3 nights. As the main hotel was full, we were offered - at the time of booking - a room in the sister hotel, 't Witte Huis, just a few minutes walk away. All seemed well. The evening meal was absolutely splendid. Then came bedtime. Rooms 4 and 5 are located close to the entrance door and fire door. The fire door makes the loudest creaking sound we have ever heard and because there was a group staying in the hotel who wanted to socialise into the small hours, the door kept us awake for several hours. We mentioned it next day to the manager who instantly went on the defensive, telling us that the fire door had to be like that or they would not be passed for safety by the local fire officer. She offered us a room instead in the main hotel but warned us that it would be noisy as a large group was coming in. She was so unfriendly and confrontational that we will never go to that hotel again. Pity as the food was superb as were the rest of the staff.

Room Tip: Rooms anywhere that is far away from numbers 4 and 5 in the sister hotel, 't Witte Huis.

Another place that welcomes dogs...so always a good start. We had a bit of a problem going up and down the stairs, carrying reluctant small dog, but we had a really nice meal pleasantly served, amongst families and other couples. The kroller muller museum is close, so this place is perfect for that.

The Hotel is very well located, with a rich beakfast and a friendly atmosphere. The nice young staff is not always professional. Disputable interior decoration, with some poor and kitch finishes. Spiral staircases without lift are a problem for moving up and down luggage and baby strollers. Church bells on Sunday morning are quite noticeable.

We stayed there, as probably most people, for a visit to the Kroller-Muller museum. The hotel is in the center of the very small village of Otterlo and is convenient for some walking through the nearby forest. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy some Dutch 'bitterballen' (meat-based deep fried snack).
The room was average but clean and quiet. Both dinner and breakfast were quite good, the personnel was friendly and considering the free WIFI and free parking it was not expensive.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front might be a bit nosier but have a better view.
