My wife and I stayed here over Christmas while visiting relatives. We booked a superior room. Upon arrival we noticed a continuous noise in our room which turned out to be the elevator motor turning on and off all the time. A little confused as to why these rooms were considered superior we went back to the front desk and asked about it. After an unnecessary discussion, we were offered standard rooms since all superior rooms were located like the one we just left. Afraid not to get a good night's sleep we decided to settle for the standard room, which was far away from the elevator, but can only be described as sub-standard. The carpet was full of stains, the balcony full of leaves, the bath room old fashioned in function and design etc.
Breakfast was ok, actually the best part of the stay. The staff was mixed, upon check-in rather unfriendly (probably because of the change of rooms) at check-out very friendly (different people) I don't think I'll go back

The hotel is located n a beautiful area in the woods of Nunspeet. It might be very nice there when the sun is shining, but if you go there in the foggy and raining winter season it is rather depressive.
The interior architect has most probably got his diploma in a free evening course. The rooms look as charmless, functional and cold as I can imagine a room in a monastery could look like. In addition to this if you don’t ask for a king size bed you only get the very old fashioned 90cm large beds. Unfortunately the only rooms having king size beds are multifunctional rooms which are used as conference rooms most of the time. Therefore the beds are foldaway beds and I always had the impression to sleep in a wardrobe (see pictures).
If you want to watch TV don’t forget to take your glasses or the binoculars with you as the TV screen is not only very small. But in addition to this it is fixed on the wall of the other side of the room. Fortunately there was a Nespresso professional coffee machine in the room which helped to have a good start of the day.

My partner and I stayed 2 days in this hotel, having booked a ‘relax-arrangement’ through an online booking agency.
The hotel itself is located in a green, quiet area and is somewhat dated, but in good shape overall. The indoor swimming pool is not exactly spectacular, but it’s clean and well maintained. Reception staff was friendly and helpful when needed.

When booking a room for 2 people, I was expecting a double mattress, not singles pushed together. Apparently, the bigger bed is an ‘upgrade’ only available in the higher priced rooms. Unfortunately, these were all occupied.

Breakfast choice at the buffet was more extensive than I had expected and the food served was more than decent. Regarding a comment on the orange juice in a prior review: we had freshly squeezed.

The area in which the hotel is located is rather dull, but that was expected. We executed a nice mountainbike tour in the surrounding woods and went to the wellnessresort “De Zwaluwhoeve” as included in our booking.
The latter is by far the biggest spa I’ve ever experienced. A bit overcrowded for my taste, but tastefully accommodated and we spent a very relaxing afternoon there.

Overall a pleasant weekend.

Room Tip: As mentioned, if you wish to have a real 2 double bed, make sure to book a higher priced room. Appa...

My partner and I stayed here while visiting family. Compared to other hotel offer in Nunspeet it is not the cheapest but it has better overall value ; good breakfast, friendly staff, clean and modern rooms. Getting around in the hotel can be quite confusing since it`s a bit maze like. Located on the edge of the woods but still only 10 mins to village centre and train station. lunchroom "Het Eiland" near the train station serves affordable and relative good food aswell nice icecream in the summer.

I just booked the "romantic gethaway" package again for in a months time!

Room Tip: Most rooms faces forest which are the best

My stay in sparrenhorst was 3 nights, 4 days. First the good things :The hotel is located in very quiet and calm surroundings and has a nice swimming pool. But thats it they are the only good things i can list. The list of bad things is endless. To list a few:
The staff was very unfriendly with the exception of a few in the "Cafe restaurant: in the hotel. As an example the cleaning lady first of all did a horrible job cleaning my room and when i requested her to change the glasses in the room which were left uncleaned she asked me to clean it myself as she is not going to clean it or change it. I was soo surprised and off course furious. The women at the reception : good for nothing , very nott willing to help - example: i asked the lady at the reception what is there to see around here , her reply was nothing .. and there was lots you could see around nunspeet.
Room service, breakfast timings evrything is all very very business like : if you are going for a traning or frm your company its fine. But if you are planning to spend a weekend or relax there ,thing again as it can only stress you out.
The hotel gave a [-----] about hospitability or making you comfortable or providing a good service.

The web page depicts a hotel that looks like a museum, wherein each room is almost a suite and every corner hides a Picasso. Don´t bee fooled, the main building looks very much like a student hall. The inner walls are made of bricks painted white and the corridors were the rooms are remember the opening of Maxwell Smart. I'd give a Pulitzer to the photographer that turned the 4x8 pool into the olimpic swimming pool tha one sees on the web.

Our room (411) was rather small, the bathroom tiny and the furniture the same as in any other NH hotel.

HAVING said that, the two restaurants are great. We had the "surprise" menu at the OINC! Which we found excellent in all courses. We had a drink in the ultra hip bar downstairs which was very lively. Staff was also nice.

Tip: if you are booking a NH hotel try to book it from the web page in anyother country than the one where the hotel is. It is way cheaper. (We paid 89Eur)

The Sparrenhorst Conference center is a well-appointed conference / hotel facility located just outside of Nunspeet, at the northern edge of the Veluwe region. It is set in a small woodland along the main road into Nunspeet and is a self-contained facility with pool, restaurants, lounges, fitness centers, and games rooms. Despite this, it maintains a quiet and comfortable atmosphere with touches of original art and nature throughout the facility.*
Check-in is very direct, and you are given a single room with two single beds. It's an efficient room with desk, flat-screen TV, wireless Internet (pay by the day for 16 euros with KPN), and a small mini-bar. The bathroom has a shower, no tub, with excellent water and pressure. Beds are comfortable: the whole ambience is wood and metal in a somewhat Swedish style.*
The facility has a buffet restaruant for breakfast and lunch, and a more formal dining room for sit-down dinners. Food was abundant and outstanding, with hoices among regional Dutch and standard business fare.*
The conference rooms were comfortable and quiet: despite having several conferences ongoing at the same time, the staff served each one efficiently and made each group feel like they had the attention of the resort. *
Although the resort offers rooms to individuals, it caters to large and small group meetings that dominate it on weekdays. There are restaurants and shops a few blocks away in Nunspeet, but the resort would be good for a quiet weekend away without going to town. *
Aside, the Ribhouse Texas Cafe, about five miles away, makes for a fun evening and good food if you want to experience the American West the way it never was as a break from the resort.
