This hotel is situated right by the motorway and is probably set up more like a motel than a hotel but having said that, it was fine. We had two adjacent twin rooms that were big enough, clean and comfortable. There is a free-standing air con unit in each room, which worked well at cooling the room with the windows closed, but was a little on the noisy side. My only negative was the toiletries supplied each day were basic and you will need your own sponge/face cloth as non were provided.
We had an evening meal at the hotel once, which we thought was very nice and not too expensive (for Switzerland). Breakfast was basic and things ran out if you were late down, but better than nothing.
We found all the staff very friendly. Wi-Fi, which is free, worked well for some of us but not so good for others, so I don't know that the hotel is entirely to blame for that.
We didn't have a car so were relying on public transport - something you can easily do in Switzerland. There are bus stops right outside the hotel with regular buses; three minutes to Buochs Post for the boat pier there (boats don't stop at Buochs often) or six minutes direct to Beckenried Pier for a more regular boat service. You can also get the bus to Stans to connect with the railway service.
NB This hotel has recently changed its name which caused a little confusion. Right now it is still known in the area as Hotel Postillon.

Room Tip: The cheaper 'mountain view' rooms overlook the motorway but it goes quiet at night and the view was pleasant enough.

This is a very nice hotel. My room was quite large, and had a beautiful view to the mountains. The bed was large and comfy.
The WiFi is free.
It is ideally located to explore both Luzern and the surrounding area, or for a stop overnight north-south, as it lies very close to motorway A2.

Room Tip: One side mountain, other side lake... Choose your favourite

Well, I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel because it look very quaint. I was a little disappointed with the meal provided. The wifi can only be accessed outside the room and if you're really close to the door then yes you can probably get some wifi. The location of the hotel is great as it is by lake Lucerne.

The one thing I didn't like was the icy cold shower. It was slightly warm at first, but by the end of the shower it has turned ice cold. The beds were actually pretty comfy, so I guess that almost makes up for most things.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in, if you don't mind that it is a little old. The room I stayed in was a triple sharing room and it was huge! There was a window in the room with a wonderful view of the lake and as quintessential a view of Switzerland as you can get (straight out of a Ricola ad). Breakfast provided was lovely as well, there was a decent selection of bread, but if bread is not your thing, they provide soup, bacon, and eggs as well. As decent a spread as you can get in Switzerland/Europe.

One thing though, as with many hotels in Europe, they do not provide free wifi. Wifi can be purchased from the front desk, 2 CHF for an hour. On our last evening at the hotel, my dad managed to get 4 x 1 hr access of wifi for 6 CHF (1 user free) and subsequently, they sold him a 5 hour access for 2 CHF. Just to note, make sure you can get wifi connection from your room before purchasing, otherwise you would have to sit at the lobby to access the internet.

Overall, it was a pretty wonderful stay in an amazing country. If I were to go back to Lucerne, I would definitely consider staying in this hotel again.

The hotel is situated beside the lake, has a great view of the alps in the day time.
Love the view that we had.

Rooms were traditionally design, do not expect much.
But had a good night sleep.

The room does provide heater too.
Breakfast was okay, little variety but still okay.

Overall, it is a okay stay! :)
