We went to the Albir Gardens & arrived home last Thursday. We had a relaxing time & the apartments were very nice. The pool was clean & we got fresh towels each day. A small problem was that we arrived at 1pm to be told that the room wasn't got to be ready until 5pm. We complained & finally got one about at 3.30pm. This is not good service. We have never come across this before. We would return, but would hope that this problem would be resolved by then. You couldn't fault the food & drinks, they were lovely & a fab choice. It was a clean & friendly place to stay.

Room Tip: Not too close to the pool, due to the evening entertainment. It did finish just after 12pm & did...

To be fair we were expecting a minging grotty benidorm hotel and we were so pleasantly suprised to turn up here!!!
The apartment was so nice! I assume they are all the same. We had a small kitchen, quite a big bedroom and a living area with a little balcony and a good sized bathroom. Everything was clean and our bed was made everyday.
We were there at a quite quiet time which was good, although there was lots of football teams staying there at the time but they kept to themselves
We took full advantage of the free hotdogs and burgers that were on inbetween buffet meals but didnt really eat much else at the hotel! Food just seemed fairly average.
The pool area is fab too!
We got the bus from right outside into benidorm every day/night and got a taxi back for about 10 euros so it was absolutely perfect!!
If i was going to benidorm again i would probs stay here again :)

all aptmts the same. Sleep 4 . Extremely small and no privacy except for those in the main bedroom. Like something from the 70s. Vpoor kitchen with few facilities. They don't want you preparing food here. Mostly all inclusive guests with a few timeshare guests like us. Tiny balcony- not worth sitting on. Would not recommend it unless you are prepared for the squash!! Clean. Large single beds in bedroom. TV tiny. No kettle - we had to ask for one which went on the 2 ring hob! Bathroom good with large shower. I would not go again.
Grounds and pool very good. Close to lots of bars/restaurants. 20-25 min walk to beach.

Room Tip: don't bother!

We could only find Albir and Calpe for the Costa Blanca region ( which wasn't destination Benidorm) in one brochure...'Jet 2 Holidays'. We stayed there from 13th to 24 July 2014. There were five of us. My wife and I, and our 18yr old daughter. Our 20yr old son and girlfriend arrived two days later. We had three apartments between us and the staff placed us all on the same floor, so it was like having your villa. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the air con being a god send... Toiletries were supplied, but better to take your own.The kettle in the kitchen was a hob style which took about 15/20 minutes to heat up, so suggest you take a travel kettle....however, the inside bar does 'Cafe Americano' on a par with Starbucks, so just take one back to your room. If you want a hair dryer, save space in your suitcase and hire one from reception for a refundable deposit of 20 Euros. There is free Wi Fi but only works around the pool area....however, we paid 15 euros for 7 days of Wi Fi for anywhere in the complex. During the first week there were only three other British families there,as we went before the British school holidays started, the rest being Spanish. The bilingual staff were fantastic, especially as we made attempts to speak Spanish. The food was typical all inclusive but of excellent variety and quality, with a fresh cooking station at one end. The salad bar was ten times better than Pizza Hut. I am not one for normally joining in with the entertainments, but Yaisel the daytime co ordinator, ensured we were were asked to join in for everything and his infectious personality made you want to get up from the sunbed and join in. Nearly all the guests were in the pool for his daily Aqua aerobics and later, the Salsa dancing lessons. There were always two very alert lifeguards on duty. The evening entertainment staff were great with a Birds of Prey show and Snake show amongst the musical evenings. I would suggest you dont do anything but go 'All inclusive'.....especially as the weather is so hot and the drinks/snacks are endless. DONT ask for a cocktail as you will be charged 4.5 Euros, so for example....if you want a ' Black Russian', you have to ask for Tia Maria, Vodka and Coke all in the same glass, then its free as part of the All Inclusive package. Crazy but thats the way it works. Whilst the measures are three times larger than in the UK,no one got drunk. Unlike a UK bar, the Spanish guests automatically formed an orderly queue. The ones who attempted to go to the front were, I am embarrassed to say, the Brits.( Not all, mind you) and advised to go the back by the bar staff. The pool and grounds were spotless, with an army of staff cleaning up before you got up in the morning. Albir itself was classy and upmarket with a mix of boutiques and restaurants. It was a pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk to the pebbly beach and on an evening, the stunning pedestrianised road and promenade with its lights stretching to the neighbouring Altea was a sight to behold. There are two small markets on the front...one selling your typical touristy items with the other selling crafty type items, along with a small funfair. Benidorm, some 4km away , contrary to my preconceived beliefs was actually okay...even quite pleasant. The 'Madge' style disabled buggys seemed to be everywhere....with most being hired by young families for easy transport. The kids went by themselves one night and then we went a few nights later with them. We went in the evening after dinner on the no 10 bus which goes every 15 minutes from outside the hotel and costs 1.5 Euros pp. Last bus back to Albir is at 1am....We ventured there on another evening and the kids sought out the infamous 'Sticky Vicky' at The Red Lion Bar,just off the main High Street. The show started at about 11pm. Ive never been lost for words but on this occasion I and everyone else were just staring open mouthed (No children allowed in). You have to see it to believe it. The drinks for five of us there alone came to well over 30 Euros, which would have been free in the hotel, so another reason to go All Inclusive. Would we go again to this hotel....as Simon Cowell says.....'A big fat YES'.....

Room Tip: Request a room as far away from the pool as possible due to the evening entertainment which ends pro...

2 adults and 2 kids (aged 9,10) stayed all inclusive during the first 2 weeks in July. I am going to break this review into different sections as there are good and bad points to the stay.
Room – We were given room H210. This is a one bedroom apartment which is a decent distance from the main building. On our first night we wanted to go to bed early as it had been a long day. The entertainment from the main building was very noisy and made it difficult to get to sleep. If you are looking for an early night each night then make sure you are in a room far away from the main building. Luckily every other night we were at the entertainment so it never bothered us.
The room itself was mediocre. It was quite small and could have been doing with being updated. Some of the plug points on the wall were not as tight as you would expect. There were some cracked and loose tiles on the floors in the main living areas and the bathroom. The shower would not sit in the holder which meant that we needed to hold it when showering. The sofa bed was really uncomfortable for either adults or kids. The rooms were clean though and there were plenty of towels provided.
Food and Drink – The all-inclusive meals are served 3 times a day, Breakfast 8:30-10:30, lunch 1:30-3:30 and then dinner from 8:30-10:30. When entering the restaurant if you want coke or similar then you need to get this from the bar, unfortunately these are already poured so can be quite flat by the time you get it. You are best to ask for a bottle of water. The orange or lemon juice from the machines tastes like normal fruit juice watered down. There is not a very good selection of food, so much so that on several occasions it was hard to find something that liked to eat or if we did it was very basic. There is a food bar near the swimming pools which serves hotdogs, burgers etc when the restaurant is not open. There is also another bar serving drinks next to the pool and in the main building. Surprisingly cocktails were not included in the all-inclusive price.
Entertainment – There are several pool, table tennis and air hockey tables in the main building. The indoor swimming pool was not open when we were there, which I presume opens in winter months. The resort has its own entertainment which plays games for adults and children throughout the day. At night time there is a different entertainment team who also play games with the kids and adults and have dancing routines for the kids. One point to note is that the resort is predominately visited by Spaniards so if you are expecting an English entertainment team you won’t get it here. The entertainment guys were great though, they do try to translate what they are saying into English but most of the music is in Spanish. They work hard to make sure all the children have a great time which ours did.
Pool area – There are 3 pools, a baby pool, a shallow pool (up to 110cm) and a deep pool (up to 275 cm) . We found each of these excellent and there were life guards present from the opening times of 10am to 8pm. There were always plenty on sun loungers too and there was very little towels being put down. Part of the pool areas is gardened so these get used too.
Location – The resort is about 5k outside Benidorm, which if you have younger children is great as Benidorm is quite intimidating with the high rise apartment blocks. Albir is much more reserved and quiet. There is a beach about a 20min walk away which is pebbly and the water gets deep very quickly. Auqalandia is a 10mins drive in a taxi (10 euros) and is a great place for the kids. You are best to go after 3pm as there is less queues on the rides and the hottest part of the day has gone. Terra Mitica is also close but we did not fancy the waiting around for shots on a ride. There us a few supermarkets just outside the apartment block and right across the road is a “Buy More” shop. Do buy stuff from the shop in the hotel as it is 3 times as much as is it in the shop across the road.
Overall: The kids like the holiday and they would come back. The adults on the other hand were disappointed with the room and the food/drink but most everything else was satisfactory.
Overall we would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Room Tip: Try and get a room that will get the sun all day as each room has balconies

We stayed here from the 17 th - 24 th of June all inclusive, have stayed once before quite a few years previous on a half board basis.

The hotel was clean, maid service every day with clean towels supplied , though , please note , Not towels for sunbeds, so make sure to pack beach towels, No toiletries supplied, not even soap for hand wash.........

Unfortunately we arrived on the 1 st week of Spanish school holidays, and much as I love the Spanish nation , they are most definitely NOT the quietest race, the queues in the restaurant combined with the noise did not make for relaxing meal times.

As for the food, yes, there was always something to eat, but , that is as far as I would go.

The drinks were extremely poor quality, no cocktails , all drinks served in plastic or paper cups, even coffee ........ But always having to queue, sometimes for as long as 15 - 20 minutes , may have been down to football but none the less not good.

Transfer time , Albir from Alicante is about 40 km, but on the coach took us just over 2 hours .

Altogether I wouldn't return, but hope that management could do something about the queues and the quality of the drinks.......

As well as beach towels take your own hair drier as none supplied....

Entertainment, was only for children, For our week there was no adult entertainment at all........
