Albir Garden Resort
Ranked #7 of 15 Hotels in L'Alfas del Pi
Reviewed February 27, 2014

just returned from albir (22 Feb) overall not a bad place ,we didn't get there till 9.30 in the evening after a 2 hour transfer as you can imagine we were hungry and tired, but the receptionist opened the dinner hall for us to eat and drink which was fully appreciated, the hotel is a little dated no more than most 3star hotels, food was plentiful usual food cereals toast eggs beans ham cheese in the morning fish pasta chips some sort of meat in evening never went hungry, entertainment is almost non existent a woman and man singing every night mostly in Spanish but it is early in season so it might change when the hotel gets a bit busier ,you are only about 5 min walk to main shopping and drinking area it was very quiet again think that was due to the time of year (plenty of germans) the beach is about a 10 min walk but not much sand mostly stone overall not a bad place if you want something a bit sorry a lot quieter than benidorm

Room Tip: block h its the furthest away from the stage

my partner and I stayed for 3 nights, 21-24 feb, the hotel does look very nice and is very clean, however the 1 bed apartment we had was very small, there is no dressing table in the bedroom, and the only mirror is in the bathroom, very hard to do your hair as water and electrics not a good mix, no shelves in the bathroom to put anything, or a soap dish in the shower, no bath, only shower, these things almost seem silly to say, but it is not until you dont have these things that you think, aahh, where do I put things, just seems daft for the hotel not to have this in place as it would not cost much to do. we had kindly requested when booking a high floor with lovely views, we got neither, ground floor overlooking a tennis court with not a pool or mountain in sight..... we asked to change rooms which we did the next day, high floor, pool and mountain view, and there were shelves in the bathroom, but still small room, but a bit better. There are no safes in any of the rooms which we have never come across before on any other holiday, only a few lockers in reception, not some where that we wanted to leave our money, passports and camera, where anyone can be walking through, again very lazy of the hotel not to have safes in rooms...The food is average, not a great choice, however the meat was cooked very nicely, desserts were like slop with rich tea biscuits on top, different, bacon and eggs swimming in fat, scrambled egg very nice. bar staff lovely, always happy, lady on reception and young man very kind and helpful, older man, well lets just say up his own. Despite all these things that are not huge, but silly and annoying, my partner and I had a lovely time, we relaxed , had nice walks to the beach which is lovely and only 10 minutes away, plenty of shops along the town, went to the Irish bar across from hotel, expensive drinks 9.20 euros for vodka and lemonade and pint of perroni, but loads of t.vs for watching footy on, Albir is a lovely place, with lovely mountains and beach, would go back to Albir , but not to hotel, unless they pulled there socks up.

Room Tip: ask for high floor, block a b or c to have nicer views

We stayed here sept 2013 (sorry for lateness of review) this was our second time at this hotel so we knew what to expect (our first time was two years previous) the hotel has had a number of renovations since our last visit all for the good I will add. We (a family of four) stayed all inclusive in a one bedroom apartment , the apartment was spacious enough for us with a lounge area which had a sofa that converted to beds and a separate bedroom with large double bed the bathroom we had had just a shower but was very modern the kitchen was small but as we were all inclusive we didn't use it apart from the fridge to store water and milk for the little one. The food was good we always managed to find something to eat even our two fussy children didn't go hungry there are lots of restaurants near by for those going self catering for or if you just fancy something different, there is a very good supermarket across the road that stocks a lot of English products and the best nappies I've ever used at very reasonable prices. The beach is about a 10 min walk away but it's a nice walk past shops and cafes there's are a few play parks on the beach to entertain the kids the beach is stoney so there's no sandcastle making but there's a bus stop outside the hotel that takes you to benidorm in 10mins and the beach there is fantastic. Back to the hotel the entertainment is the same as most hotels in spain but the kids love it and that's what matters to us .The children love the pool area which is fantastic there are two pools for toddlers and two other pools which are supervised by a lifeguard.,the pool areas are kept nice and clean. We love staying at this hotel as it is excellent value for money and the staff are always helpful and friendly especially the ones that work in the dining room area always had a smile and say hello we are going back for a third visit in June can't wait.

Really enjoyed our time at Albir garden Resort, service from all staff excellent especially Esther from the restaurant / bar and Jonny, friendly and efficient, a real credit to the hotel! Food was buffet style however we never had a bad meal, plenty of choice and was still served hot, good choice of drinks available in the bar on all inclusive and no problem getting a round of drinks at one time as others have mentioned, however no pint glasses? I understand being all inclusive the hotels reason for this but a pint glass would be appreciated. No problem getting a good spot by the pool or a sun bed, breakfast also good. Albir as a place was lovely just a stones throw away from hotel is a good supermarket and a little bit further plenty of places to eat out and bars to drink, a pleasant 10 - 15 minute walk to beach. Thank you Albir Garden Resort we hope to return.

Stayed here self catering with my boyfriend from 26th Dec-2nd Jan. Hotel was really nice, rooms were big and had everything we needed. Supermarket across the road from the hotel, was a little quiet but this was just because of the time of year, plenty of restaurants around, i'd reccomend the classic gourmet!

The hotel had an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi and the outdoor pool was closed because of the time of year, but indoor pool and jacuzzi were really nice!

It is a 10 minute taxi journey into Benidorm which costs around 11 euros.

I would reccomend this hotel :-)

Just returned after spending Christmas here and apart from a wonderful xmas dinner/evening, we were disappointed with the temperature of the meals served, having said that there was always plenty to choose from and a microwave is avaliable, I used it many times.
The hotel and surrounds was very clean, with the maids working xmas day.
Be prepared to pay out for things on your arrival , TV card, Internet card, Safe deposit box, Hair drier(deposit only) all of which have been supplied free at previous hotels we have stayed at.
The rooms and bar furniture all need updating.
Being out of season the entertainment was very limited with the same girl singing most nights, the staff were always friendly and kept you supplied with drinks
