This hotel has the potential to be fantastic but unfortunately they are failing on very minor, silly things. For a 3 star property, the food is fantastic and can't complain over the options on offer or the temperature. I never had to queue to get food and always found a table in the restaurant. The restaurant staff were always courteous and friendly. I do have a small niggle though - I would like my cup of tea or coffee to be in a china mug or cup, not a paper cup.
The garden setting is stunning and the 2 pools are lovely (if extremely busy and noisy but great if you have kids and don't mind the noise).
It's fairly centrally located near to shops, restaurants and bars but is a good 15 - 20 walk to the pebbly beach (you can catch a bus from outside the hotel).
The Reception staff were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful, along with the maintenance staff (who had to visit my apartment 3 times in 2 days !!!) who were also very helpful.
Now onto the negatives which overshadow the good points unfortunately. The apartments are exceptionally basic and very tired looking. I have never been to a 3 star (or 2 star coming to that) property that doesn't have a hairdryer (take your own), the beds need new mattresses, they are so old I could feel the springs and a week later am still having problems with my back. My bathroom didn't have a window and there was no fan fitted so whenever I had a shower (which incidently are very good), the room got so steamed up I wasn't able to see into the one and only mirror in the whole apartment for a good few hours. It also meant it smelt fusty and horrible. I did report this to reception twice who promised me housekeeping and maintenance would sort it, but they never did so in the end I bought some air freshener and just kept on spraying (which is not a solution, just a quick fix). The hob in my apartment also wasn't working when I arrived at 10pm and was desperate for a cup of tea - maintenance were there within 5 minutes and fixed it there and then so no complaints on that score. I also had to make a complaint about my balcony, the tiles were all loose and cracked and I couldn't sit out there as it felt so unstable. Why they have never rectified this is beyond me. I also had to clean my own room on the second day as the cleaner had only changed the towels and hadn't bothered to sweep / mop the floor (which is included in the all inclusive package). However, a word with reception and the rest of the week my room was always cleaned every day.
Onto the entertainment (I say entertainment in loose terms), music blaring out with grown adults attempting to dance to it pretending to be kids. The worst all inclusive entertainment I have ever experienced. They really need to look at their offering of this as it's geared purely towards the Spaniards and only for kids. Thank goodness for the TV cards you could buy for 19 Euros and get UK Sky TV !!
In all honesty, it appears that management have worked hard to ensure the customer service and the food are top notch which doesn't cost much, just time training staff. They really let themselves down by not investing money in keeping the property up to scratch. As it stands, i wouldn't go back there but if they sorted out the rooms by updating them and ensuring they meet 3 star standards I wouldn't hesitate to go back. A shame as this property has the potential to be great.
