We stayed here for a week from 28th December to 4th Jan,all inclusive,I was a bit worried because my wife is a fussy eater and i knew i'd be taking a gamble with the food options,however... The food on offer was superb. It was a buffet for breakfast ,lunch and Dinner. The choice was very wide and varied and we found something different every day.The choices were, fish ,beef, pork, chicken, hams, eggs salads and many other things. With a varing choice of veg and potatoes. If you got peckish in the afternoon burgers and hot dogs with chips were always available.
The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent.
The rooms were cleaned every day and the apartment was spacious. The pool area was lovely although no one was swimming this time of year we did manage to sunbathe for a couple of days,
The hotel got very busy over New Year as the hotel is used by a lot of Spanish.(If the locals use it,it MUST be good) also it is a popular hotel with spanish sports and football teams.
Through all this the staff remained patient and helpful.
The new years gala meal was superb, all credit to Juan Carlos and his team for a smoothly run event. Overall a fantastic stay thanks to the Albir for a memorable new year.
For your info . There is a well stocked supermaket opposite. Just along the road Theres a number 10 bus to benidorm which takes about 45 minutes but note, a taxi takes 10 minutes.
Bus costs 1 euro 45,Taxi about 10 euros. To walk into Albir takes abou 30 minutes,(well worth it)
Also be aware you need your own towel to use the indoor pool,so take one with you.
Enjoy your stay,I'm sure you will.

Room Tip: Be aware that some of the apartments in the blocks do not get much get sunlight on their balconies,s...

Nice and clean room but basic, cleaner comes in every day which was great, there was no entertainment because it was the winter season food was up and down and only just warm most days , Albir is a excellent resort not as noise as benidorm with plenty of places to eat I would not put any one off staying at albir gardens you get what you pay for so do not expected any more than this

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view as these are the best rooms also take a travel kettle as there is no kettle in t...

before I start please note the dates of this trip 17th Nov to the 24th Nov 2012, i say this because, it was quiet, so can ot comment on hight of season.
We booked a package with Travel Republic, and once again thanks to them everything was spot on, we were on an all inclusive basis, the hotel itself is a little on the tired side, (more on the room front, we were in block B door 3 room 207). the room had its own kitchette, lounge, bedroom single beds, and a bathroom with shower, all very basic, and a little run down, but clean and served its purpose, at the end of the day we only used it for sleeping, and changing. the room was cleaned every day, and clean towels everyday as well, beding changed once in the week. only comment, the walls are quite thin, so in season i would expect to be a little noisey, from inconsiderate guests.
The grounds are well kept, and as for the comments about litter, well sorry this is down to guests, and not the hotel staff, there were around 20 bins in and around the pool area, we had no issues with litter.
Food, as to be expected from and all inclusive hotel, plenty of choice, the usual luke warm, but there was a microwave, the comments about food being uninviting, well sorry if you could not find something to eat at every meal, then thered is something wrong, at least 4 choices of hot food, salad bar, fruit, 4 choices af cereals, bread, jam ect, sorry for those peope that complain about the food, we can only put this down to, it is not what they wanted on the day, even the breakfast had proper sausages.
Staff, due to the time of year, they were a little short handed, but were very friendly, and worked very hard, may i suggest to those who complain about the staff, try a little spanish, please and thank you get you a long way, and its not hard, a few euro tip every now and again, goes a long way as well.We had a leak from the upstairs room, when reported to reception, maintance man was out and fixed it within 15 mins, now if that is not service i dont know what is.
Location, within a 10/15 min bus ride to Benidorm on the number 10 bus, which goes from just outside the hotel, Albir nice clean town, with everything you need, there is even a very, and i mean very well stocked supermarket opposite the hotel, should you go self catering, the next town along the front from Albir is Altea, they run into one another, it can be walked in about 30 mins, and the church, up a bit of a climb is worth a visit, for the view if nothing else, you can also take the number 10 bus, if you dont fancy the walk.
All in all i would say this hotel is worth the price we paid, it could do with a bit of TLC, but in view of the state of thier economy, this can be forgiven, having said that, some out side improvments, were being made, and i have to say that the builders were very good, with the noise, and the times they started and finished.
we hope that this review is of some use to people, my only comment i would make, is please bear in mind that spanish 3* is not the same as british 3*, and please do not expect 5* service, because you wont get it!!!!

Room Tip: ask for a high floor, with a balcony which gets the sun, ours did not.

Went to Albir Gardens on an all inclusive basis in September 2012 and would never go there again even on a freebie. The general impression was of a poorly run 1980's resort in Turkey. On top of this the hotel put Spanish people first and all but closed down once the bulk of Spaniards left during our second week. First the good parts -

Accomodation - Quiet rooms with comfy beds. Good hot showers.

Dining - Second half of the holiday the dining room was quiet as the Spanish school holidays had finished. The staff worked very hard. Occasionally there was nice food.

Bar - The beer and wine was ok.Full strength Pastis available on all inclusive. The bar was clean.

Reception - Speedy check in. Staff helpful unless one was complaining.

Pool - lovely pools, lots of sunbeds and a lifeguard.

Now the bad bits -

Accomodation - Automatic stair lights went off too quickly plunging one into darkness on the stairs. Three storey accomodation had no lifts. The bathroom had black mould everywhere which was not removed despite complaints to reception. There was a pubic hair in the bidet for five days. Loose towel rail. Loose soap dish. No remote control for the TV or air con. No cups in the room and lots of missing utensils if a grup was self catering. (A complaint produced four glasses!) Poor lighting with exposed wiring. No safety catch on the balcony door.(One man found his two year old child on the balcony alone). The TV was ancient and held together with adhesive tape. A large shard of wood was jutting up in the serving hatch. The stove took 30 minutes to heat a kettle. The stove dials had no numbers on them. No bedside lights. The cleaner did not clean up adequately. Rusty patio table. The accomodation blocks are depressing Stalinesque brown concrete. A coat of whitewash would transform them.

Dining - The dining room was often a hell hole. Overcrowded and noisy, reminiscent of a zoo. Cramped tables made accidents a liklihood. No tongs available for bread rolls. Not enough cups and saucers which often ran out. Once the spanish holidaymakers left so did the butter.(A complaint made no difference). I have never stayed in a hotel without butter. The carvery staff often served the Spanish first. The food was very often low quality with a poor choice of desserts. No control on the dining room door -people wandered out with bottles of wine and bags of food to feed self catering guests. The drinks machines were often out of order. The outdoor dining area was closed when the Spanish left despite it being over 80 degrees every day. Spent a fortune eating out in Albir and Benidorm.

Bar - The Spanish got served first unless one complained in Spanish! The staff lied about drinks availability.Queues for drinks were huge. Bar staff numbers cut to 1 when the Spanish left. The water machine was removed when the Spanish left.

Reception - Holidaymakers with obvious mobility difficulties allocated third floor rooms when ground floor rooms were available. Complaints not acted on. Lying staff (another person complained about mould in their bedroom and I heard the staff say it was the only room like it).

Pool - Litter, vomit and assorted filth not cleaned up in the evening so guests had to pick their way through it on the way to dinner. When the Spanish left too many sunbeds were chained up so guests had nowhere to sunbathe. Pool bars closed when the Spanish left. A lot of sunbeds were broken.

Room Tip: Book in somewhere else such as the Dynastic or Levante Club

Enjoyed staying in the hotel, centrally located- near supermarket, lovely restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Nice swimming pool area, bar area, staff very helpful and polite. Apartments were clean but very thin walls- so noisy, bearing in mind we were there in October! Had all inclusive but decided from having a meal in there that we would eat out instead- food very basic.
Would recommend to stay there but definitely go self catering!

spent a week all inclusive from 24th October. I realise it is low season, but to have hardly any staff on is not good. those that were on duty were not very friendly or helpful except the receptionists. food was something to be marvelled at. Plenty to choose from but it all tasted the same. There was something resembling a fritter one night entitled 'bird pie'....who knows what it was.

We had our bed changed and made up on the second day and clean towels on the third apart from that the apartment wasn't touched. One resident asked when the bins got emptied and was told ''when they are full!!''

the patio table was broken and very faded, the chairs covered in dirt which I cleaned with the towel that fell form above on the first day and was still there when we left.

I left a message for the cleaners in the dust on the sideboard.

Clever photography used in the adverts and the description close to the beach is a huge exaggeration. 20 minutes walk at least and it is stoney.

45 minutes on the bus into Benidorm, so not really on the north side. However taxi by the hotel gets you there in about 10 minutes and is very cheap around 7 euros.

Perhaps this hotel is better in the high season, it is large, but I suspect it may be over crowded by the pool then. In October there is only one bar open and snacks could not be found, so didn't get full value of all inclusive. DO NOT drink the white wine free at dinner...it tastes like toilet cleaner.

Turkish bath was not open, reception couldn't say why and the entertainment was a CD put on by bar staff at night. No music by the pool and no staff around it.

All in all not a great place at this time of year, but it was fairly cheap and to get the sun was nice. It was the only hotel we could find that wasn't high rise, bit think we will search harder if going to the area again. Don't think we would use this hotel again. room was freezing and of course had to pay for heating. No hair dryer either.

Room Tip: All rooms run down and in need of refurbishment
